Please Riot, did you not understand Viktor's character at all?

A cult of Glorious Evolved, as they're called in the New Lore, worship some kind of deity the Gray Lady, who demands sacrifice; people as mindless drones leaving their severed body-parts and organs to rot on the altar?

This is a COMPLETE miss, and Viktor's story is not even out yet.

And I thought the original lore of Jayce was bad.

I am... so disappointed. I've played this game only because of this one character.

EDIT 1: Viktor was supposed to be a scientist. A scientist.

EDIT 2: Dear Riot. We don't want Viktor as a leader of the Techpriests, leading a cult that demands human sacrifice, or Viktor as a God Emperor who may or may not be dead and obsolete.

We want a scientist with personal problems, who has nothing to do with religion,

Viktor is a genius scientist. He has a vision for the future in which mankind progresses. He's LoL's Nikola Tesla - his abilities are even inspired by Tesla's proposed inventions. The Evolution should be a sci-fi transhumanist movement centered around a philosophy. It should be scary only because nobody can see where it ends and how it affects the world. Not because it's a fanatical insanity movement. Why? The "crazy religious cult" trope is already overused, with Elise, with Karthus, with Malzahar. We've already seen this exact same trope in Warhammer 40K and it does not suit Viktor.

Viktor would not tolerate some people starting a religion around his idea and place decaying organs and limbs on an altar in unsanitary conditions where disease spreads and likely kills people faster than badly done amputation could.

The only thing that could be coherent with his old lore is if he does not approve of religions forming around his scientific achievements, or if he doesn't even know about these cults. Still, this cult is like a copy-paste from Warhammer40k.
