That's entirely community made though, not an actual meme about the game. Riot hasn't made promises about SG Urgot as they had with Dragonmaster Swain.

I feel like Tyrant was gimped in favor of not just prioritizing budget to Dragonmaster, but also to make old Swain Mains with Tyrant into new whales. Dragonmaster even as a WIP has fully modeled ult form and transformation, complete with a unique flight animation for it. Features that many had ask be present in Tyrant since it was promoted as 'when the demon fully takes over'.

Even such sloppy details like the animation bone wrap error on Tyrant's breastplate (the reason why it warps like its leather instead of keeping its shape like metal, something that's seen on the default breastplate) that was left in.

This all come into focus. Feels scummy of Riot to basically punish their oldest players and mains, many who already owned Tyrant as a way to show their support of a niche champ, all to make sure they can fleece more money.

And Tyrant Swain has processed VO and special voice lines that Dragon master might be lacking. We should wait and see until Dragonmaster hits the PBE before comparing the 2.

Nope, Dragonmaster also has a voice filter (a better one IMO) and unique lines.

In other words, Dragonmaster is objectively better than Tyrant even though both cost the same. Riot deliberately gimped Tyrant in favor of Dragonmaster to make old owners of Tyrant buy DM instead.

While I'd agree that DM Swain is qualitatively a bit better than Tyrant,I don't think it is that much of a difference,the only things that DM has over Tyrant are: -He gets a new model for his feet during his ult(both of them get new heads for them,DM Swains ultmodel is still just an altered version of his regular ones) -He gets the flying animation(honestly I feel like this should have been something for all the skins,the stiff wings look kinda weird) and a special Q animation during his ult. -His E has a unique shape upon return,wheras Tyrants still has the claw shape,just in green(not sure if that was changed later on,the video that I saw still had the old Q

His VO got changes,that switch the references to Birds for Dragons.

Meanwhile Tyrant has only the following benefits: -He has an extra model on his recall -He has additional lines -The model for his human head looks completely different from the standard one(DM swains honestly looks like they just changed some colors for the regular one and gave him different eyes)

And I think which of the VO-aspects you prefer is up to you. So essentially it boils down to the fact that DM has 2 more animations,slightly more model changes for his ult and a more unique looking E,while Tyrant has a unique model for his recall and his head looks more different than the base one.

And while I don't think this is enough to put the 2 skins on equal terms,it means that DM isn't that much better than Tyrant either.

Tbh i find his model a bit strange (mainly his head) and a little bit less epic than what i expected it would be. Maybe it was just that it fit the old Swain better.

I also feel kinda cheated on since Swain gets a brand new skin RIGHT AFTER his release...

Although i have to say, that dragon form is so cool.

Yeah it looks mostly like recolors of his normal particles. It looks like skins that only change model reworked for VGU champion. Like when they added recolored particles to Yorick skins that otherwise changed just model. That's what it looks like to me but I suppose they'll sell it for full price of skin that changes models, adds VFX etc.

The skin was definetly better on old Swain who had ravens as a mug more core part of his theme and kit. More ravens = More dragons.

His rework isn't even Live yet but they made a new skin for him. I feel like they need to do this with every rework.

If I remember correctly, Reav mentoined they changed how teams work to allow this. Before they couldn't organize it so that the skin team makes new skin alongside VGU, now they are able to work on new skin alongside skin reworks for VGU.

So it's possible it will become trend for future VGUs. Or it's just that this skin was so requested and I am having hallucinations about what was said.

Well, it's a very highly wanted community skin. The others didn't really have anything that was sought after for 6 years.

Warwick had plenty of skins, even a skin like a year or so before his rework and he will be getting another on Thursday.

We also don't know the other skins that are most likely coming so any of the new champions that are up for a skin could be in there.

SG Urgot wasn't wanted for 6+ years though and has become more of a meme than something most people want.

Well, sometimes they tease one skin fairly early and then the rest a bit later before the patch launches... but then again sometimes it is only one skin which can also suck :/

Honestly it feels very underwhelming considering they had a marvelous idea from a fan who created the original design. This feels very lackluster in all senses of the word. But hey, only took about 3yrs to finally release so I was expecting Legendary or Ultimate quality~

The skin concept is awesome, but 2 points bother me a lot:

The color-scheme is terrible. Looks like a Dragonmaster forgotten under the sun over the whole summer time - completely paled out (both in dragon and human form). It does not invoke any strength nor mystic whatsoever. More saturated flames, darker blacks and, please, no orange-man oranges. He looks like if he had some kind of sickness or is hangover.
The horns on his head look like Syndra, Kayn, etc. It just doesnt look well rounded and also a bit silly on top of that hair in my opinion. The concept looses its smoothness if you ask me, because it gives the impression of being forced. A dragon-like face, burning eyes, etc. would suffice to underline the dragon characteristics.
Ok 3! He obviously has a terrible coiffeur.

I have bashed the concept a lot, but he is awesome! I just had to bash it, especially since it is a soooooo long awaited concept. Considering that, its a terrible outcome for that kind of anticipation and excitement.

I was extremely excited for DM Swain for all the years I was a big swain player. However this concept was designed for the old (real) swain, and not this new champion with Swain's name. It doesn't fit the same way. This Swain possesses none of the wildness of a Dragon. He just stands up too straight, if you know what I mean. The old Swain having the dragon on his shoulder made him feel more like kin to the dragons. Swain relied on them because he was old and crippled. With this he just has dragons sprinkled into his particles. And change his hair for crying out loud! I feel like they chose to keep the hair on this skin just as a middle finger to the many people that wanted his hairdo changed. I'm rather underwhelmed. I always thought that this skin would be one I would break the bank to get the first day it dropped, even if it were Ultimate. As of right now there's no way I'd buy it. I hope they do some more work on it before release.
