HUGE Theory! The Freljord, Shurima, Mount Targon and The Void!

So we all know that Ornn, Volibear, Anivia and The Seal Sister are siblings. We know that Ornn and Volibear are rival brothers who have extreme power beyond any other known entities of Runeterra aside from Aurelian sol. Ornn literally maintains the core temperature of Runeterra, preventing the planet from going cataclysmic. Volibear controls the sky, maintains weather and atmospheric stability. Anivia is the buffer between the two and serves as the cycle between death and birth and rebirth.

I have two theories today.

First theory involves the connection between the Freljord and Shurima and mount targon. My theory is that Ornn was the weapon smith for all the weapons for the Shuriman and Targonian gods. It also being known that Ornn, Volibear and Anivia protect the Freljord and value its people above all else is evidence to me that they didn’t just sit around while Aatrox invaded the Freljord. I highly doubt that they did nothing while he slaughtered tribe after tribe to prep tryndamere to be his new vessel.

My second theory is that Ornn is protecting a world Rune.

For anyone who’s done the research on Ornn, we all know that he’s a very introverted fellow and he doesn’t tend to do things for others out of joy for being a neighborly friend. So why did Ornn help protect the Freljord from the Watchers? (void born beings) I believe it’s because he knew that they were coming for the world rune. A quote from the official lore explains it.

"Far beyond the known lands of Valoran, in the deepest, darkest spaces beneath the world, even the mythical Watchers are drawn to the power of the World Runes…"

After Ornn finished the howling abyss, the battle took place. The Freljord won and the watchers were thrown into the abyss. (Deepest, Darkest places beneath the world.)

The rune that Ornn is protecting is at a place where only he can go, beneath hearth home. This makes total sense.
In Ornn’s lore, it explains how the planet bestowed him with the power of Runeterra flame, the magma core of the planet. “Ornn thanked the land for the glorious match. The land responded by opening a fiery pit, showing him its very heart, and he was honored to see it was a reflection of him: a fiery ram. The land had deemed Ornn worthy, and bestowed its secrets to him, gifting him the strength of primordial flame, for fire is the true agent of change.” This explains it all. The Ram shaped reflection and the gift of the primordial flame was more than just a gift. The planet chose Ornn to protect one of the world runes. Another quote from the lore may be all the evidence needed to prove that the Freljordian gods are related to the shuriman and targonic gods.

“Ornn was the firstborn of his brothers and sisters. He leapt into the world, itching for a fight.” Note that it says plural brothers. That’s may be a the link to Nasus, renekton and the other ascended. I realize that the ascended were mortal before ascension, however mythical pantheons of gods have entities labeled as siblings despite their entirely different origins. It also says that Ornn was itching for a fight. That doesn’t sound like the Ornn that we know from the other stories and from in game quotes. Ornn after he settled down in hearth home became introverted and secluded. I think he had to settle down in hearth home because he couldn’t risk leaving the rune without protection. Protecting the world rune became his new purpose.

One other thing. People are discussing what destroyed the Yggdrasil (The world tree). A voice line from Ornn literally explains everything. Ornn says “I once made a harpoon out of a mountain and a world tree, that was a weird century.”

I’m wondering if the “harpoon” is an allusion for something involving Mt.Targon (The mountain) and the Yggdrasil (The world tree)

I don't think Aatrox has anything to do with the Freljord in new lore

RyzeTheSmurfMage2 votes

Aside from him being found there.

Ah sorry I must have missed that - which story is that? Or is it a rioter post?

Tryndamere story wasn't changed from what I know. That would mean Aatrox was found in Flerjord and stayed there for a while.

Ah ok I wonder if it will stay the same or if it will change with the Freljord update

Where's the evidence?

So Ornn would have the same goal as Ryze?

I didn't even bother reading your post, because the connection you're looking for ALREADY EXISTS.

"The Watchers, also known as the Frozen Watchers, are ancient beings of The Void who master above all the Voidborn."

...Erm... You should really read before assuming things then :/ OP's theory doesn't seem to be referencing the Void much at all.... Merely the relevancy of Ornn... OP is basically theorizing Ornn designed the weapons for Targon and the Ascended, and that Ornn is protecting a World Rune.

Lol so unless you were implying there can't be more than one connection, (not to be condescending) please let this be a lesson to read before assuming things.

The point was that the connection between the Freljord and the Void already creates a connection between Shurima and the Freljord.

Im confused as to where u are going with this tbh. Are you saying this connection can't be built upon? or that there can't be multiple connections? Explain ur point and it's reasoning in connection with OP's thread.

Point is it's not a theory. It's an obvious inference. Except for Ornn guarding a World Rune, that's far-fetched and makes it sound like a bad fanfic to connect Ryze and Ornn when no such connection is needed, since Ryze is already connected to everyone.

...an obvious inference that he was the one who designed the Chalicar? And Targon’s weapons? And lol, it’s not a bad inference, it might be incorrect but not far fetched, the Planet’s core being a world rune/connected with them doesn’t seem impossible considering what Runeterra means and the origin of the world runes. Ornn is aeons older than Ryze and is a god/demigod. The runes aren’t solely linked to Ryze, not serve only as linking points to Ryze.

While I’d prefer it to not be a rune, it’s not unlikely that it is a rune. If it is, in fact, a rune then we gain more insight into what the runes are, there capabilities etc. And it makes sense that a immortal entity would be able to resist corruption.

Thank you. I myself only brought up the idea of a world rune because I have no idea what else it could be. But the idea of the planet granting him strength isn’t unheard of. The same thing happened to Volibear, in his lore, the sky gave him the power he has in the middle of a fight (Technically right after he lost the fight) I do find it curious though, Ornn used to be very feisty and aggressive, “itching for a fight” and the one day after he moves into Hearthhome, he just decides to become reclusive and isolated? The lore did also speak of how Ornn was more social before the cataclysm between him and Volibear, but never the less, this was an interesting transition between attitudes. Why are people calling me OP I. The comments?

Oh, OP means Original Poster, the creator of the thread.

Dude. I post a strong theory and you criticize the my entire post based on Whether or not it a theory vs an inference?! The game literally sets so much evidence out about the world rune theory. Read Ornn’s lore and please pull that massive stick out of your a$s.
