His VO sounds so dark, yet so sad, it makes me wanna give him a hug for sympathy. I could feel his pain during his conversation with the Mists, so much burden he's carrying and he's willing to fight to free the Isles, no matter the cost.

That in mind, I wonder what would Illaoi exactly think about him. I mean, if I'm not wrong, Yorick is in motion, but all the same he's undead.

...But then again, he's against the Ruination and the Harrowing, BUT THEN, he uses the Black Mist as his weapon (even if it's against the Mist itself).

Damn, that's pretty complicated. I feel like she might not even appreciate him one bit, just because he's undead and using the Mist. :P

He's very, VERY somber. It's interesting to me, considering how outspoken other champions are. He actually sounds like he's mumbling to himself constantly, which seems really fitting for him, as you say.

I think it's interesting, certainly well done, but it's a huge shift from recent champs like Kled and Taliyah, who are more upbeat and speedy in tone.

Yorick kinda drones on, and I do think it fits him. I don't like New GP much because he went from goofy Yo-Ho pirate to this growly, grumbly tyrant. But with Yorick, the somewhat darker tone feels like it works a little better. I'm going to miss his old voice, but the new one's good.

Interesting to note, he doesn't seem to be undead anymore (or at least never refers to himself as such), and the ghost that accompanies him is...probably the Ruined King's murdered wife? She seems like the only one who would fit into that position.

The ghost is the Maiden of the Mist; the embodiment of the mist itself. Think of it more as the will of the Mist given form rather than a specific soul or person.

He is ofc against Mordekaiser ("My army will storm your gate, Revenant!") but I'd like to see how Mordekaiser considers him and the Maiden (if he even knows about her).

Damn these are the moments where I can't wait for Morde VU.

Yeah but I wouldn't think that means that The Maiden isn't chanelling itself through the Ruined Queen or at least using her voice for that matter.

If that really isn't the case, then i think Riot has missed an opportunity.

Edit: if the Maiden had a multitude of different voices all speaking in unison then i could understand the Maiden being not one particular person. But the fact that it is the Maiden of the Mist and it has the voice of a woman, create the obvious conclusion that the Ruined Queen is more prevalent in this embodiment.

Edit2: plus I've just noticed the banana thing on Y's back is the Shadow Isle logo, the weeping women who is also highly likely to be the Ruined Queen.

I feel like the queen's soul is somewhere in there though. The Ruination began with her......maybe she holds power over something in this new life

I just kinda wanted to point out this line

(Mist Maiden) "The King will return for it!"

(Yorick) "Then I will strike him down"

He also has about three other lines mentioning the Ruined King not only being a person relevant to Yorick's backstory but being ALIVE (Or whatever undead state he's currently in)

Possible hint at the Ruined King being a future champion?

Wouldn't be surprised by Scott McNeil, given his stellar performance as Sion. Dude can do gravelly and guttural to a tee.

So the Ruined King is still.. nondead.. And to add more, the ~~lost souls of the Shadow Isles~~ entity which speaks to Yorick (the Mist itself?) refers to him as "father".

So a few things we learned (if not already) from the new VO:

-Yorick does not necessarily have any new powers; he simply uses the mist to support him. If he does have new powers, he refuses to accept the full force of it.

-Yorick is immortal or ages slowly after taking on this task and whatever power he may or may not have accepted.

-The "father of the shadow isles" is the ruined king, according to the lady of the mist.

-The mist appears to be trying to take hold of yorick; perhaps this means the other residents of the shadow isles are not doing this of their free will? Or maybe their perspective has been altered by the mist? That's just speculation though.

Either way, exciting stuff! Yorick is finally back, and ready to be remembered.

I think Lux is actually less naive than she looks, much less. Lulu is a real bubbly deal though. Also Yordle lore updates will be rolling out this year so Yordles might actually get callouts now... And Yorick could represent how the Shadow Isles champs view them.

INB4 Lux actually gets the quote and I cry.
