Vi has sex dreams? About what? ABOUT WHAT?!

Vi: Fucking perfect. 100% nailed the character. Nothing else can be said to emphasize perfection unless Vi was IV so Jhin could have an stroke from euphoria.

Jayce: Is a likable asshole. Well written and the color text made me laugh out loud in how he treated that kid. I like it.

Orianna: Doesn't steal the show from Vi but comes damn well close. Holy shit this is tragic and I love me some tragic champions.

Awesome all around, in my opinion. Especially Vi's which perfectly captured her character. So perfect, in fact, that it felt natural to read the color text in her voice.

However, I now would like to see a Visual Update to both Caitlyn and Orianna.

Caitlyn because I'm sure running around Piltover in a dress and high heeled boots can be bit.........problematic at times. Gotta keep the hat though.

And Orianna because she went from a machine replacing a girl, to a girl basically becoming a machine. She still retains some human aspects, such as gestures and emotions. Also, I think it's hinted at that the giant key in her back is no longer there. A visual update that mixes human and mechanical motion, instead of being purely mechanical, I think would be awesome.

That, and both champs models are severly outdated, harkening all the way back to season 1 and 2.

Sure, their models may not be in the most dire need, but it would still be nice.

Caitlyn's short story has her expressing disdain for sugared pastries. Declaring not canon right now.

I still wait patiently for Demacia and Noxus to get their focus.

I want to see if Garen's growing disquiet over the path Demacia's nobility is taking the kingdom leads to Rugged Garen becoming his exiled cannon. Garen

When I showed someone who has never played league before Jayce, she said "Wow he looks like a dick"

God fucking bless. Spot on Riot.

Vi and Caitlyn are really great. It's cool that they kept the mystery of "C". For Vi, the mystery of her parents and her sister is still obsure, hope they will feed us some of it.

Pretty interesting that Jayce heard the Dreamsong. His story is good, just not my cup of tea with Viktor.

Ezreal is pretty nice. But what about the second gauntlet ?

Orianna is cool. They took a different stance towards her "humanity", but it has some pretty cool moments.

I've been appreciating the little ways they build up the interconnections of the lore recently, and the way they lay out some interesting teases. they've also been reinventing a lot of little bits of the characters in ways that make a lot of sense (C is no longer a superthief, now much more likely to be Camille, Ezreal no longer was some mage student)

some thoughts:

Orianna went from replica of a daughter to someone who replaced every bit of herself with machinery. this fits Piltover more but 1) I wont be surprised if its another lore faux pas with diehard orianna lovers, 2) Orianna and her dad can make a new brain but a heart is too complicated? we make new hearts all the time, your machine hands are way more impressive Orianna

Caitlin's lore does a pretty respectable job of marrying her lore status as a sheriff with her look and gameplay, which is much more that of a hunter.

Vi's lore has some teases about Jinx but I thought the most interesting thing was that her original gauntlets were basically Blitzcrank hands, and Blitzcrank is probably one of the construction golems mentioned in her bio. the bio skips over a lot though, in the name of telling that story later.

Jayce is Iron Man. Also curious what the crystal was. I guess I like the new ties to Viktor

Ezreal's bio is a little bit of a reinvention with a nice little arc to it- he no longer has latent mage powers, but hes a smart kid who doesn't need to work hard, until he does, blah blah blah. I liked learning a little about the glove and where it comes from.

Overall I wish more short stories would try to add a few more layers to each character, something I think they did well with Camille. But ezreal and vi, for example, have short stories about them doing very very 'archetypal' ezreal and vi things, where I think a bit of nuance that shows a new side of those characters might've been more interesting.

I remember when they said the goal was to preserve the champions initial identities as much as possible with the removal of the league. Super glad to see they've decided to completely abandon any pretext of that with Orianna.

Not like everything she says in game completely contradicts this new bio. Or the idea that the orianna in game is and always was supposed to be entirely different from the girl she was based off of. Her story doesn't even make sense with her physical design if the key was something to keep her living heart going and only her father could turn it, yet she also removes that heart in her story, and in game she turns her own key as her idle. Or why some charitable nightingale would turn into a killing machine that flatly states "yes, I am a weapon".

I wasn't honestly expecting riot to maintain consistency or give respect to the old characterization. They've been terrible about that almost across the board, but they could at least play a game with the champ before retconning everything.
