I'm Scared For Kayle's New Lore
Repost for being in wrong section I think? @Riot if this gets removed again add a reason as to why please so I can fix it properly.
Kayle is supposedly scheduled for a VGU and if not a VGU then at least a lore update and VU. I have recently been playing a lot if Kayle and I'm Scared about her place in the league universe and what they would change her gameplay to. For now I will state my ideas on her lore and character and in another post make one about ability updates.
In the current lore. She is an angellic figure that hails from a strange world of constant war. There she purges the evil with her constant justice. She then had to turn on her sister when she turned against Kayle and into the dark ways; her justice prevailing. This is a fine base of a character for her, however her world should be scrapped as it just adds random extra dimensions to league thst aren't really needed. Let's talk about what her character is and should be before we try and put her into an affiliation.
Kayle's thematic is first and foremost from the Christian religion. Her lore character being based off of Michael the Archangel. For those of you who don't know, Michael is seen as a healing Angel (Kayle's W) who leads God's angels against the forces of Satan. Like Kayle in her current lore. He was also lesser known for taking part in doling out justice for people's Day of Judgement. He is often depicted fully armored, wings outstretched, and with a sword raised above his head fighting Lucifer. Lucifer in this case would be Morgana as they are both the fallen angels and siblings of each other (all angels would be considered brethren). As you can see the similarities are uncanny between the two. This should be her basis of character. She needs to be this divine Angel that fights against evil for justice.
Riot has already done a great job at showing that in game with her model. Her model does not need any work added to it despite making it less clunky. For this Aether Wing Kayle should be used as her base to look at when changing her animations for in game. The swing animation on it is perfect for the sense of smiting the evil out of the world. The light effects on it give that same feeling. Otherwise, riot has done an amazing job on the model and animations for her.
Her written lore is shotty at best. Now that we know WHO kayle is and what she stands for we can start placing her in an affiliation. You might first think "Demacia ofc because JUSTICE." That has it's merits, but then she would lose the divinity part of her character. Kayle should be an aspect from Targon acting in juxtaposition of Morgana as the opposing parts of human nature. Kayle should be this perfect paragon of exactly what a good person should do, eradicate the evil from the world; be this justice bringing Angel. Her personal lore would keep the fight Morgana as she fell from grace that's all pivotal to their characters. She herself needs to be an aspect who doesn't have hosts like pantheon or Leona. Her and Morgana trapped in a struggle of power both trying to affect the mortal world with their believes but not able to get through due to their power balancing. However, little bits and pieces make it through. Her biography should focus with what she is to the targonians as their Divine Angel who everyone should learn to be like. While she cares and protects the just with fierce compassion and cleansing the ones who are not. It then should focus on the power struggle between her and Morgana as contradictions to human nature. Her short story could be about one of her little pieces of power that she managed to get to the mortal world. A little whisper in a child's ear that shaped them to be an apothecary or maybe someone like vayne who purges evil. Kayles effect and what she stands for should be larger than her character.
TL;DR Kayle should take the Archangel Michael as her base of character. She should be a targonian aspect who is in a constant power struggle between Morgana to propagate their ideologies to the mortal world. Her effect should be larger than her character.
