Kassadin has Varus's old lore

Something didn't sit right after reading Kass's new lore and I finally figured out why. You forced Varus's old lore to fit Kassadin. Kassadin is now a revenge driven man because he lost his family (at least that's what he thinks). This just doesn't work as well as Varus because Varus had to choose between his family and his duty, where as Kassadin didn't have any choice. Then you have him follow a similar path of gathering power, yet (at this point of his lore) he doesn't give up his humanity or pose any risk to him. Varus gave up his humanity for the power to seek vengeance on Noxus.

Another thing is that Kassadin's lore feels half-written because there is no connection to the Kass we have in game. I get that you want some build up or something leading to the confrontation between Kass and Malz, but Kass's current lore does not in any way reflect his game self. One last thing he's supposed to have met Kai'sa because she mentions that in her lore, but that is left out from his story which would be a big defining moment for him and Kai'sa.

The forced Varus lore and the left out story don't make this as enjoyable a read as it could have been.
