I started playing season 1, but only started really paying attention to the lore around season 3.
I would still play if the threw out every single bit of lore, however my attachment to the game would be far weaker than it is now. The gameplay is enough to keep me playing, but gameplay needs can be fulfilled elsewhere, where as lore needs cannot. You can't just find a new story when you're invested in one already. Sure you can have multiple, but it's not always easy to give up that original one.
To put it as simply as I can if they cut the lore I would keep playing, but the moment my friends moved on to another game so would I. If there is a story, however, I'll come back time and time again.
started playing season 4. haven't really invested in the lore, but that's mostly because I hear it's not great. If there was no lore whatsoever, I'd still play league really. story is, icing to me, not what I eat the cake for, but something that tastes good :D
these "would you still play" threads are retarded cutting external shit from the game is not going to stop people from playing the game it just makes them care less about the characters.
What season did you start playing? 1 When did you start investing into the lore? 3/4 If Riot decides to cut lore right now in replacement for the short bios, would you still play? (Purely hypothetical. I know Rito would never do that to us.) possibly, would reduce the time I play by a lot though.
Season 2. Read all of the JoJ. Of course I'd still play. While Blizzard makes some of the best lore I still don't like HOTS, WoW has amazing lore, not my cup of tea though.
