Dark Star Thresh - The Antispiral?

A teaser for a new Thresh was just released, and I have to wonder, does anyone else think it may be inspired by the Anti Spiral's final form in Gurren Lagann? It would make quite a bit of sense, with multiple super galaxy skins being released recently, as they do need a villain to face after all.

I guess the design or even the basic idea for the concept could have been inspired by them(like a rioter watched TTGL,saw the anti spirals and thouhgt "whoa this would be an awesome thresh skin"),however I think the skin itself will be based more on cthulhu(tentacle head,cosmic horror) or galactus(he seems to destroy/devour planets)
