It'd be nice if you could tell beforehand what a skin gives you.

Before buying a skin, I mean, it'd be nice if there were some in-client way to see whether it gives new particles, animations, VO or not. Right now you have to pretty much look on the internet for it, but I feel like it'd be a lot more customer-friendly (and clearer) if the skins tab in the new client, which has some free space, told you what you got.

New model New particles New SFX New VO

That'd already be a great help.

Couldn't you check for a skin spotlight on youtube? it may be out dated, but it should be roughly the same no?

It basically shows everything about the champ, it would just be someone saying that they are too lazy to just go look and want something right there.

So basically, you are correct.

I'm guessin he didn't want to have to go to an out side source to gain information on an in-game purchase. Which makes some sense most Mobas at least show the model for the skin in game

It's what I do, and generally that fits the bill. I look up another site for a summary of what it gives you in the way of new model, new particles, etcetera.

If they hadn't updated the client, I'd have been fine with going forward like that. However, since the client's being updated and still in beta, I wanted to get out the feedback that a feature I'm missing and would appreciate, is being able to see from the in-game client what a skin offers.

I'm totally with you, but it'd be nice if we didn't have to turn to third parties for that sort of crucial information.

the skin pricing reveals everything 260, 390, 520 - just a recolor 750 - new model, that's it 975 - new model, recall and sometimes new SFX 1350 - new model, recall, sfx and sometimes a Voice Filter 1820 - basically everything a 1350RP skin has but with a new VO included 3250 - basically everything a 1350RP and 1820RP has (with the addition of new summoner icons, animated splash, model that can change forms)

except old legendary (1820) skins don't have a recall, sfx, or voice filters

true, but I was mostly reffering to newer 1820 skins

The point is that you're wrong; pricing doesn't reveal everything. The evidence you provided yourself: 975 RP skins sometimes have new SFX, but not all. Adding clarity through the shop by listing exactly what each skin offers helps improve expectation, since not all skins of a given price follow a uniform line.

There are 520 skins that are new models (see: Curling Veigar) or new models with SFX (see: Statue of Karthus for example, eagle cry with his dance), and even 520 skins with new particles (Leprechaun Veigar!). There're other such outliers among skin tiers, some being unfavourable (975 RP Baron Von Veigar is just a model change), which would be a pretty bad deal comparatively.

I'd be all with you if you were right, and that the pricing revealed everything accurately and you could know exactly what to expect from a skin at a given tier. Except that's simply not the League of Legends we're in, and revealing what you get for what you buy can only help us as customers.
