Viktor and Ekko are explicitly from Zaun, Vi and Jinx are speculated to have originated there, and Jhin's place of origin is yet to be revealed.

Vi's comes from a time before she can remember.
Jinx's is basically the X in her name and acts like her signature.
Ekko's weapon is the seconds have from a clocktower, so it makes sense it would have a number on it somewhere, even if it's nothing to do with the object's actual function of telling time.
And we don't know what's with Jhin's number but given the way the heads of the I's go it's more like a symbol of something than a number, at least from where I'm standing.
So there are reasons, doesn't mean they're all linked, since having lines in a manner similar to writing on something isn't indicative of a strict connection.
Also 4 (including Viktor it'd be 5) champions with a number on their design is not an addiction when the number of champions, including Jhin, is 129.
EDIT: I'ma take a moment here to say this: do Romans exist in the League of Legends universe? Nope. As such roman numerals also don't exist. VI and XII and X and IIII and III don't have the same meaning in Runeterra as they do for us in the real world.
Hunter Orion 71 votesFor Jinx, I personally feel that her name came from what she made of X, rather than it being a calling card. Sort of like how Vi got her name from her number, though less imaginative. I like to think its because of the past Vi and Jinx are implied to have and the only link we have to Vi's past is the roman numeral on her face. Also during Jinx's teaser it was only the X that was vandalized onto the pages, i personally interpret that as it being a bit more sentimental than just being a calling card because there's an X in her name.
Sharjo1 votesHonestly I wouldn't expect any degree of sentimentality in Jinx for something like a name. For guns? Sure but Jinx is also the girl who named her electric pistol "Zap".
I do get where you're coming from, totally, though I'm more inclined to believe she just uses X because it's the most impactful individual letter in her name. Gonna make a note of your thoughts though, because I kinda like that thought process.

What VI means to anyone beyond being a moniker of the woman who only knows herself is Vi is unknown, and its certainly not in line with what we as players associate VI with, considering roman numerals by all accounts don't exist in the League of Legends universe. It's important to keep in mind in-universe perspectives and meanings behind things; the XII on Ekko's weapon might be a number as many have stipulated, but it could be a word of its own with a set meaning, or the mark of the Piltie company who made it, assuming it was a Piltie company.
For Jhin it's the same. At face value for us, that IIII looks like a four. But in universe that could be anything. I'm inclined to assume it's more of a symbolic icon, an insignia or something directly linked to Jhin, especially considering the tops of each I being a little flick off to either the left or right side.

Firstly, Jinx was signing her graffiti with X BEFORE she became known as Jinx.
Secondly, Jinx is not her real name, but one given to her by the populace (she's like a walking jinx for carnage).

GreenLore1 votesI think Piltover would be rather fitting. The gun seems mechanical enough to be from either zaun or piltover,but zauns style is usually very rough and more bio-punk-like.
Jhin however comes off as too.....well....clean.... It just doesn't really fit Zaun that good.
Maybe I am wrong about this though,I mean we haven't seen him completely,but I'd say its about time for a new piltover champ anyway(I think Vi was the last one) and an evil one would be definetly something to make the piltover cast a bit more diverse.
