In this one, I see a more child friendly eye of a strong evildoer in a wood, why is he in a wood in a throne while in the other one he appears to be in some sort of room?
Those are columns with an obscuring for dramatic effect. Both look cool though.
They both look very disney to me. Like something they would make for little kids or teasing the new big villain for a movie. Doesn't really scream the great tactician that General Swain is suppose to be.
Yeah, I don't like what they did to his face at all :/
The background is Ok, look like one of those big open gothic hallways witht he columns at the sides. If there is any impression of a forrets it is the way those feathers interact with the collumns and the light, however it looks like a grand throne room to me. It could benefit from the blurrying effect though.
But that Face! The older one has more quality to it, more life, the new one looks like an evil cartoon villain.
Also on the shoulder guard you can see that the new Artist is less skilled than the old one. they had to redraw it to change Beatrice, but they messed up the shape of the shoulder piece, it no longr matches to the other one. And they also managed to mess up the shading on that one too, where it meets the colar it does some weird Esher Perspective bending in the wrong directions.
I like the newer one has it gives more of his theme with the birds.
The "hair" looks like real hair now :/
