I'm a bit disappointed
that alistar isn't vastayan, while it's nothing big. I feel like he should have been placed as vastayan IMO.

There are more sentient races than humans, Vastaya and Yordles. Personally I don't think Alistar would be a good Vastaya thematically, as he is not overtly magical. It sucks that he has no real lore though, just an easter egg on the Piltover map.
I'm glad he isnt. Not every animal like undefined champion needs to be labeled as Vastaya.....like come on cass does not need to be one
I think the main difference is Alistar is part of a race that was already very established in his own lore: minotaurs. Ahri, Rengar, and Wukong were just "well, these animals were sentient because... MAGIC!(?)" Plus, minotaurs are already a popular race in other fiction. No reason to tie in the minotaur race into the Vastaya.
