No one sees themselves as a villain. Azir sees himself as a ruler of people, bringing a great civilization and helping guide his subjects to greatness. Taliyah has heard of an evil tyrant who wishes to enslave his people for his own selfish desires, and it would have to be her to stop him.

Bottom line, both would see each other as a villain and themselves as a hero. Which is very good storytelling.

Even if he calls himself that, one can never be so sure.

"Heroes are bound by a moralic and ethincal codex that limits their actions. Villains on the other hands can do EVERYTHING - including saving the world from unspeakable horror or destruction even if it would mean using absolutely unreasonable and terrifying means."

That could be his philosophy.

Well, if you look at Dr. von Doom in the Marvel Comics, that's something similiar. Doom has disregarded all possible moralic categories of good and evil to accomplish his goals. If his actions will make him a villain to some, he does not care, as long as he reaches his goal.

Veigar is like, the half-sized version of Doom...

I mean there's a lot of stuff out there breaking down if Jack is the hero. It all basically sums up to, "No".

The thing is that the vault hunters really aren't very "good" as protagonists go. The desire to bring order to a violent and dangerous world is certainly purer motivation than the greed and wanderlust that brought the vault hunters together, so on a macro level it is pretty blurry. When you look more closely though, Jack is a really evil guy. He's narcissistic, sadistic, and is incredibly power hungry. It's pretty obvious that he's not even the "greater good at any cost" kind of guy because the only person he cares about benefitting is himself. His daughter is his only shot at redemption and the way he used her made it clear that even if he did love her she came second to his need for power.

Hopefully not "all" the stories are true. I'd be disappointed to see her at odds with Azir because that comment from the merchants about slaves was correct. Not to mention putting a notch in Azir's character.

I've said it once I'll say it again; opinions are painted by the available information. No one in Runeterra aside from Xerath and Azir lived to know Azir freed all of Shurima's slaves. Only Nasus and Sivir are likely to have met the now Ascended Azir. The world lacks knowledge pertaining to anything Azir's actually doing; they only have rumors to go on.

We'll see if Taliyah has a cool enough head to let reason prevail when she has that meeting with the emperor.

At the very least, there are the stories she heard from the merchants:

“It’s a bit more common now that your people’s lost city has risen.”

Taliyah looked up. “What?”

“Word has it the rivers flow backward too.” The merchant waved a hand in the air, poking fun at the mysteries of a far-off people he considered simple. “All because your bird-god has returned from the grave.”

“Whatever he is don’t make any difference. It all threatens trade.” The second merchant joined the first. “They say he aims to collect his people. Misses his slaves and all that.”

“Good thing you’re here and not there, girl,” the first merchant added.

But possibly other stories too, either as a child in Shurima, or on her travels. Not sure how much of ancient Shurima persisted in myth though. I'll bug Jaredan =).

Obvious sexism issues aside, there are plenty of in-universe reasons, too. She's a poor child soldier gal, that fled and hide from both her former armies AND from Ionian militia with Yasuo, and made a desperate run towards her home country in what's probably a record time. Not exactly the best conditions to shine as a hot babe. I can bet she has no make-up, that she didn't bathe in over a month, and that the few clothes she has are well-worn with time and harsh travel conditions.

And last but not least, I def' agree with TheySeeMeWardin that even if she's not sexy "hot", she's still a pretty gal.

Why the fudge not? It's been a long time since we had a beautiful female champion. Its not like she bends the rocks with her body, she weaves her staff so she doesn't have to be bulky and manly looking like illaoi.

I prefer my hot babes to have a reason to be hot. Look at other champs:

Elise: succubus-like witch that seduce people to steal their life force and remain young
Miss Fortune: bounty hunter that use her beauty to trick gullible men
LeBlanc: mistress illusionist that can basically appear however she likes

They are "standard western mass media" beautiful, but it's logical. On the other hand, why the hell does Cait has a mini-skirt? She's a cop, for feck's sake, not a model. And Taliyah is a child soldier, she has far more pressing concerns than her appearance, like, you know, survive the war or evade her pursuers... Nobody would look hot in such conditions, not even MF.

Also, even if Taliyah doesn't exactly fit the "standard canon of beauty", she's not "hot" but she still has no obvious defect: she has a symmetrical face, she looks healthy and is not grossly over- or under-weight, she has no deformity. Maybe you don't find her attractive, but you can bet with 100% certainty that some people will be genuinely attracted to her, not just in a politically-correct-everyone-is-beautiful kind of way.

I did not forget her, I just gave a few examples. You know, there are 33 sexualized female champs in LoL (said Zenon on Twitter), I don't have time to talk about them all...

What about riv?

Well I don't have much of a problem with Riven. I tend to agree that the old splash was better, but the new one is not bad. The poses in some splashes are kinda ridiculous imho (Dragonblade <_<) and I personally hate Battle Bunny, but it's just a skin, so whatever floats your boat... But her appearance in her base Skin is consistent with her lore and combat-style.

But tbh, I don't understand what was your point with Riven...

I mean it's only been over two years since we've gotten the last attractive female character. Since our last one was arguably Jinx, (some wouldn't think shes attractive too skinny) or Quinn, back in 2013. Since then we've gotten dead females (kalista), furry's (kindred), macho lady (tentacles) and a void monster (rek sai).

Hey if you don't find Kalista, Lamb, Illaoi or Rek'Sai sexy that's your problem bud. Your standards of beauty don't apply to everyone, so when you say "It's been over two years since we had any good looking female characters", someone else says "Lol are you blind?".

Not sure what problem people have with Illaoi. A strong woman who's rocking some impressive guns while also having quite a lovable and energetic personality to back it up. It's not like she's fat or looking unhealthy in any way, or has anything that would make her unattractive (like giant warts, scars, etc).

I'd hook up with her, just saying. I doubt I would have a chance tho xD

Here, here shallow minded person. Let me tell you a story about beauty. Most people arent super models, most people have flaws. Most people look differently depending on where they live, what culture they belong to, and their biology. What you think is attractive is only one example that exists and is not the definitive "this is how all attractive people should look like" rules.

She looks like a normal girl with middle eastern facial features. She also is kinda cute to begin with. So please dont exaggerate someones features (which arent that bad to begin with, in actuality she looks perfectly fine from where she comes from), you wouldnt like it as well if someone exaggerated yours (which can happen because different cultures and levels of tolerance, intelligence, and understanding).

Not to mention that super models also have "flaws" and don't actually look like their magazine pictures. And ideas about what is generally considered "attractive" vary not only between cultures, but within the same culture from one generation to the next.
