The Current State of Ionia

So from what I can gather, Noxus still invaded Ionia post Great Retcon™, though we have no information that addresses the explicit details pertaining to the invasion. Ionia could be currently occupied by Noxus forces, it could be a nation under the jurisdiction of Noxus with pockets of resistance, or it could have successfully repelled the invasion. Ionia may be in a state of political reform, with various parties looking to fill the gap left by murdered Elders. We know for a fact Syndra and Zed are actively pushing their own agendas, challenging surviving Elders and spreading the teachings of shadow, respectively. Their measure of success is sadly unknown. However, Gangplank's update has provided us with an interesting bit of knowledge:

In Ionia, he incurred the wrath of the deadly Order of Shadow after ransacking the Temple of the Jagged Knife

Whatever its condition may be, we can infer that Zed and his school of ninjas have not only established a firm place in Ionian society, but have also done so long enough that temples have been erected or occupied by them. What does this say for Ionia? Have Zed and his teachings been accepted by the general population? Is the Order of Shadow so prevalent that none oppose it? Has it become a faction unto itself within the island nation, with some people offering their support while others staunchly oppose its advance?

Honestly, I like the idea that in light of Noxus' invasion some groups in Ionia were eager to discard tradition in favor of securing an advantage for their country and welcomed the Order of Shadow despite its transgressions.

Also, what is The Jagged Knife? Is it a school of thought, a particular martial art, or a sacred relic? It obviously had some significant value to not just the Order of Shadow, but Runeterra as well, otherwise Gangplank would never had bothered to raid the temple.
