They said they were working on a rework back then,but they never made any promises(thats why riot rarely gives us any deadlines,the reason why aurelion sol was announced at all was likely because he was going to be the next champion and was already almost finished when they made that announcement).

Overall i do hope that Shaco gets a rework though. Not only feels his gameplay rather outdated(and he could need a VU),but he is one of the champs with the lamest lores ever(he is mysterious killer for hire,thats all),when he has so much potential

He's unhealthy too, his Q makes him near impossible to chase, he has quite some CC, and he's really annoying when he deals so much damage with just one E. I don't play Shaco, but I want him reworked cuz of his health issues.

Yeah,I remember that they said that his passive also felt really weird to play against(you know like you run away,but before he strikes you turn around before running away again and so on) and well his ability to flash and stealth instantly with a regular ability also feels rather outdated.

They scrapped it. No changes in the works at the moment. Pretty funny thing happened during the experiment though, yasuos windwall completely deleted shaco from the game when yasuo blocked his ult

I uh actually rather enjoy the current Shaco, maybe a small rework but not a full scale one, he works great in the current Meta.

They mentioned one of the ultimate abilities in testing being Shaco becomes a projectile for a very brief duration and travels a short distance (Untargetable?), which explodes into Shaco and his Clone upon impact with the first enemy champion or reaching the maximum range.

A funny thing about the Ult was that, at the time, when Yasuo's kit was being finalized for release, during a playtest with both the experimental Shaco update and Yasuo, the Shaco player activated his ult during the teamfight but Yasuo's Wind Wall actually ate Shaco, with him being a projectile, and Shaco was literally deleted from that match.

I'd say he's up for a large-scale update (Similarly to Sion, Poppy and Taric but probably lesser), according to Red posts. For all we know, he's not being worked on right now.
