What's up with pantheon in the shop?

Why is the shop's splash art different yet when you click on him it goes back to the original.

But in all seriousness, this has been an issue since forever ago. It's basically and quite obviously a bug with the wrong regional splash art that keeps making its way into the client (tho personally I've never seen it).
I'm curious tho, if you went to the effort to mention this then what did YOU think/hope it was?
