Urgot's Name

I was just reading an article about the Salem Witch Trials and came across a theory that the girls who were speaking strangely, moving erratically, etc. may have drank a fungus that grows on contaminated rye. This fungus is call Ergot and the subsequent condition of hallucinations, slurring, etc. is called Ergotism.

Did this inspire Urgot's name at all,or is it just a coincidence?
