My theory is that aatrox's human host is the same race as kayle/morg because aatrox has wings and not all darkins have wings like rhaast when he posest kayn. plus only kayle/morg have a set of pair natural wing set unless its not ahuman but a vastayan/animal hybrid
you got to take with a grain of salt that not all darkin will look the same
varus looks like he is slowly being possessed by his darkin bow but instead of the demon like skin rhaast and Aatrox have he seems to be getting demonic crow feathers instead
so the Darkin Aatrox might naturally have wings
Well Aatrox wings look at lot like war banners. It may just be to further solidify that he is the representation of war. Though I like your theory, so maybe the angelic wings just turned into war banner like wings after the possession was completed.
That is a great theory. Although Kayle and Morgana have angel wings I imagine once Aatrox took over from their race the wings became corrupt along with the rest of the body.
yeah, but his wings are very weird looking, not like morgs or kayles. It's a good guess, but I would go with the hybrid idea as the wings are awkward.

That's a cool theory. He could also have been one of the creatures that live on the top of Mt Targon (if you remember Leona's lore, she saved a boy with horns and bat-like wings).
Kayn doesn't have horns tho so how would that tie in to the theory that the Darkin take on the host attributes?
Rhaast's horns must be unique to his appearance, the same could be said for Aatrox's wings
