Runeterra has SIX different apocalypse events

Birdie Sànders·7/9/2018, 8:19:20 PM·41 votes·15,672 views

The Darkin Aatrox Kayn Varus The Void Chogath KogMaw Khazix Malzahar RekSai Velkoz The Frozen Watchers Lissandra Xerath beating the other Acended Xerath Azir Nasus Renekton The Shadow Isles Elise Hecarim Karthus Maokai Mordekaiser Thresh And Ryze at any point failing in his mission to hide/destroy the runes Ryze

This was originally about Mordekaiser and the Shadow Isles being ignored by Riot and over shadowed by the Void and the Darkin, who Riot seems to be infinitely more invested in lorewise. But honestly you guys need to chill about destroying/enslaving the world.

Just your average Tuesday on Runeterra.

"Hi, Steve. Who's ending the world today?"

"Seems like the Void is going to shattered the planet next. Oh well, want to grab some Ionian grub afterwards?"

"Yeah I'm down. Hopefully the Darkin left my favorite restaurant intact."

The Void is the main threat to Runeterra going forward, Riot already said that. So everything will be overshadowed by them from now until the lore ends (which will never happen). Secondly the Darkin if there really are only 5 left aren't a World Ending threat (Aatrox despite this guy wanting to end the world so he can die.) Finally Morde is up for a VGU at some point so if you wait he will become an even bigger threat than he currently is. He is only not a threat because his lore is outdated so in a way he technically doesn't exist yet. He isn't being ignored they just have to get to him at some point.

Lissandra as an Iceborn is probably affiliated with the Void. We knew this already because the Frozen Watchers are the masters of the Void and she serves them but now with the Ascended literally being called the "Sunborn" we can extrapolate that the Iceborn are the Freljord equivalent albeit on the Void side of the conflict.

The major threats (Actual world ending potential): AurelionSol, the Void (Lissandra included) and an inevitable Rune War II.

The big threats (could be catastrophic and disrupt the stability of Runeterra): Xerath, The Shadow Isles, The Darkin and maybe even Noxus invading more of the world. Although this could be a good thing if it means a more unified Runeterra can stand against the Void when it eventually comes full force.

Localized threats: all the one off villains and factions that want to do harm: Syndra Zed DrMundo Gangplank Jhin etc etc

Welcome to Runeterra.

Have an apocalypse.

You’re missing Aurelion Sol who’s current plan is to set Runeterra ablaze to free himself.

At least that’s where his lore left off. Gonna go out on a limb and say that’s not what he will do when he arrives but still.

But yeah, the lore went on an “ancient magic evil” spree where scratch the surface of just about any territories lore, you’ll find an ancient magic evil that will either destroy the world or corrupt it or whatever.

As someone who’s not particularly interested in ancient magic evils. This has been a bit disappointing for me.

You forgot about the biggest threat to Runeterra:

Veigar

Veigar is the Thanos of League of Legends.

Ebonmaw Dragon7/9/2018, 9:59:27 PM6 votes

Technically the Darkin and Ascended are the same. So, that counts as the same: Ascededs killing everyone.

And the Void works for the Watchers... so,its the same.

And Veigar, dont forget the tiny master of EVIL

Elise isn't that connected to the Shadow Isles. Her old lore was, her newer lore has her as a member of the Black Rose in Noxus, who happened to achieve immortal beauty through a constant sacrifice to Vilemaw. She's only using the Isles to maintain her house's power in Noxus, but she is by no means to be lumped in with the undead there.

Maokai also is not to be lumped in with the undead. He's the last vessel of all the life on the Isles, so he's seeking to exterminate the undead and reinhabit the Isles with life and beauty.

The Frozen Watchers and the Void are the same thing, just from different regions. The Watchers are Void creatures.

There is also a few more that haven't been explored so we don't know if they are currently a threat or not, being Syndra and Veigar , although I have a suspicion that both of them might relate to the World Rune storyline, especially Veigar considering last time we checked the only thing he wants is ultimate power through arcane and dark magic, and nothing is more arcane and dark than a World Rune.

Well to be fair, Lissandra, the shadow isles and Xerath don't want to destroy the world.

Lissandra believes that living in service of the watchers is the best thing for humanity,so she doesn't want the watchers to end the world, just to rule it.

Meanwhile Xerath wants to rule shurima(and possibly the world) himself(though who knows if he could blow up the planet accidentally if he gets free)

And the shadow isles might kill everything on the planet, but that wouldn't be the end of everything(especially if Mordekaiser is in control),sure it'd be a world full of undead, but it'd be still a world with sentient beings on it.

Isn't there also Aurelion Sol with the whole "Just you wait till I'm free"?

Jackom17/10/2018, 7:11:20 AM3 votes

Maybe at some point we'll see the black mist clashing against the void.

Cloudy with a chance of THE END OF THE WORLD

I kinda feel like in the end "bad guys" will ruin plots of other bad guys cuz "its our world to end. dont get in the way of our apocalypse"

Camille Ferrøs7/9/2018, 10:25:59 PM3 votes

You forgot the trickerster picking Zoe. That pretty much f up everything to come. (its a joke dont hunt me down.)

Chembaron Yamada7/9/2018, 10:32:21 PM1 votes

Technically, the Darkin, the Void, and the Frozen Watchers should count as 1, since the Watchers are the origin of all of them.
