She's not as much of a blacksmith as she was pre-update but we can generally agree that is still her second job.
Just thought I'd point this out.

Meanwhile in the new lore,she isn't even that.
Yes she must have done something else before leaving bandle city,but just because she has a blacksmith skin doesn't mean she used to be a blacksmith.

The problem is that Poppy most likely had smithing skills, it we just never her full profession. Old lore she was too young to be anything more than an apprentice, and new lore she was on an identity search before finding Orlorn.

In the end,she never was a full blown blacksmith.

After all, she had to do something before leaving Bandle City and running into Orlon and considering she is canonically proven to be the strongest champion lorewise (if you push aside demigods and the like) and she was practically made for the hammer her job had to involve some beating and hammering stuff.
Not to mention, the Pentakill music video showed her in her blacksmith skin whereas all the other yordle champions present were default. Not a very big detail since, well, it's not really canon, but a noteworthy one.

This is alternative universe. Yorick and Mordekaiser wouldn't work together, Olaf is not rage mode on bloodthristy mad man, Sona is not a freaking ghost, Karthus doesn't sing metal (actually none of them).
Bandle City doesn't even look like this, it is just how it looked like in old lore.
Actually, entire Bandle City and its champions were from old lore in the cinematic.
