[Edit] And voting's done! Art is Life has taken this round with 111 votes! It will face off against another Noxus story on the 15th!

#2018 Lore Tournament: Day 4 Welcome to day 4 of the 2018 Lore Tournament!

So over the last few days we've pitted a few stories against each other and some players have started to accuse others of a Noxian bias ;). Swain defeated Nidalee in the jungle, and then the Jungle defeated Noxus (but still, came out on top)! I'm sure (/s) today will show those dastardly empire builders what's what...

In a desperate port town in one of the less pleasant parts of Ionia, Akali is multitasking - getting some sweet ink done, while laying down some justice. Far across the ocean, a young artist is commissioned for a very special portrait in the bloody, beating, heart of Noxus.

https://i.imgur.com/v8HIKyD.jpg[/img] Leaving Weh'Le by Michael McCarthy Akali engages in some one sided banter with the tattoo artist Bo’lii, before her mark walks in the door and she's all business again. ##vs https://i.imgur.com/rzCJKtL.jpg[/img] Art Is Life by Graham McNeill Maura, a young, brilliant, artist makes her way through the night streets of Noxus to paint an incredibly significant portrait of Vladimir.

A day all about artists then! Portraits and tattoos, blood for both. Noxus and Ionia fighting once more, but this time through words and imagery rather than with toxins and axes. Let me know what you did, or indeed didn't, like about these stories as we close out the year; ready and eager for a new year of sweet, sweet, word-smithing ;) ######PS - If 'Noxus' wins this one, we at least know that on the 16th, Noxus will lose! (And also win - it'll be Noxus vs Noxus, kinda.)

Weh'le is being pitted against an absolute juggernaut of atmosphere, imagery and storytelling. Not fair at all.

By the way, did you notice that Vlad's backstory sort of references that of Vlad the Impaler (the entire political hostage thing) and right after hearing his story we encounter thousands upon thousands of butterflies pinned on needles... Which may again be a Vlad Tepes reference?

That's just one way the story is being clever and fucking awesome.

Art is Life revealed that Vlad has a headless Mordekaiser fountain in his front yard. The sheer audacity and extravagance that Vlad has is summed up in that one fountain. He took an image of the guy he helped defeat, complete with the key to said defeat (stolen skull), and made it gush water outside his ridiculously big house.

Nothing compares to the headless Mordekaiser fountain.

Me, realizing from this tournament how much I love Noxus, in all its edgy glory.
