In his old lore, he burned himself and lost his eyes because of his mistake as a summoner. Now the new bio says he was a promising mage (so maybe summoning magic doesn't exist anymore?) who made a big mistake, but doesn't say that he blinded himself. I don't think this was explained in his shirt story, iirc.

He has an updated short lore that mentions how his magic powers manifested in an unbelieveable way. So I guess it is now linked to his magic powers going rogue.
