Nashramae keeps popping up all over the lore

We've seen in it Shurima lore. Siege of Nashramae, where Shurima conquered Nashramae, and Renekton burned the great library of Nashramae as he became more and more savage. Rammus also inspired some guy to build a great market in Nashramae. We've seen in it the new map (http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/piltover/medarda-heirloom), and learned that Nashramae silk is in high demand (presumably). We also see it in Ezreal's lore, where he sneaks in a ship to Nashramae and finds his gauntlet.

I haven't seen any other minor location mentioned so many times. Is there something special about this place? Why do so many things happen here?

It's a port city with history.

First part is the history of it. With the library and all. Then the fact Rammus appeared was more of a chance encounter.

Since Nashrame is a port near water, it has a LOT of possibilities with it being in a desert like area. It can sustain a large market with its wealth. It can bring in wares from other countries and areas through boats. It can give passage to people going from Piltover to south or the South to Piltover.

I think it's importance is Geological and economical in nature. It is rather close to PIltover, afterall.
