Garen Sona Vi Zed These 4 are being targeted by someone or something. Yet what is something that they all share because theories are piling up everywhere on surrender@20

They all look asleep or tranquil. Maybe it's a spiritual thing?
Each (I'm not sure on Zed) have an element of some kind: Garen-earth (emerald) Vi-fire Sona-air Zed-petals (water because plants need it?)
But why them? That is confusing. Sona and Vi make some sense with those elements, Garen is the outlier here. He keeps throwing me off.
Maybe we are overthinking this a bit and deadeye is simply some kind of assassin with magical powers who targets these 4 for different people(I mean pretty much every champion made some enemies over time)
Zed is really the odd one out here...
The link that I found is that they all have suffered some kind of loss in the past. Garen lost his allegiance by chasing after Katarina, when he began to realize that the war vs Noxus might not be as black and white as he thought. Vi lost her memory and sense of home, Zed lost his humanity when he embraced the shadows, and most obviously Sona lost her voice.
