These two were updated visually about 3 years ago. They still have a few splashes that no longer resemble their in-game selves or are just outdated. Specifically Minuteman, Spooky & Sailor for Gangplank. Then you have Unchained, Golden, Black, Matador, & Longhorn for Alistar. Any word on when these are coming?

BigT1 votesYeah I know they were VGU's, I miss old GP but I honestly believe he's in a better place now. Yeah after looking more at Infernal he could use it too. The horns don't match and his armor was changed up a bit. Toy Solider GP could use one too imo but it's not horrible.

Moonboy654 votesReav3 replied to my question on reddit about the next candidate for splash updates a month ago: Not sure. Irelia, Akali, and the next VUG after all have pretty big skin catalogs. We have also taken on doing launch skins for new champions as well so we also have to make the splashes for new champion launch skins so we have been pretty full booked on shipping products.
they're all hands on deck for Akali and Nunu + the new champions and their launch skins (since they merged the champion/launch teams recently) so getting skin splashes updated is almost impossible
Wert the Wacky1 votesI’m not sure how popular this opinion is, but I think Alistar needs a small gameplay update. Not because he’s outdated or really bad in anyway, but his gameplay doesn’t match his lore or fantasy at all. He’s supposed to be a warrior with an unbreakable will, and yet he’s just a mildly tanky support that occasionally bumps people around. I love his current kit, But it needs tweaked so he’s more of a top lamer or jungled than a support. (And yes I know he can jungle, I do it sometimes, but it’s not very good unless you know what you’re doing)
QMighty1 votesIf they ever go back to splash updates then the first one I'd want to see is Sivir (mostly because she got it the worst in that Chinese art pass, only behind Evelynn, maybe) But yeah GP, Ali, Garen, Annie, Karthus, Kassadin... so many they should get to when they go back to doing splash updates. Also, here's to hoping Kass gets a new classic splash when they finally get to him.
GreenLore1 votesThey said that because they are updating more champions this year than in the last one,their splash art-update team has their hands full and isn't able to update the splash arts of the other champs who previously got a VGU.
So while Alistar&Gp are on the list for skin-splash art updates,they will likely need to wait until the splash art team gets a chance to do them,because the new VGUs take priority.
