New Viktor lore has just been released, and I'm here to ask you if it measures up to your (outrageously high) expectations. Be truthful here, this is a judgement free zone. Well, it's not, but I hope people will have at least some decorum discussing this topic.

…I was joking about the "outrageously high" thing. Kind of.

Btw, please upvote, I want to get as large a sample size as possible, which will only happen if people actually see the post.

I like that neither side is in the right. It makes for a more realistic story.

Seemed cold and awkward. Vik's character isn't consistent. I think they actually edited the initial story in order to appeal to the complaints made against Jayce's lore.

The overuse of Viktor being a saviour and doing everything for everyone else is one example. I don't think it did his potential any justice. Also, he turned himself into a machine why? Cause Jayce and crew doesn't like him?

Really? :P

Tbh this might be true. The story seemed a little… rushed to me, but overall I thought it was good.

Viktor is just a guy who wants to help people. We have a lot of those in League.
He turned himself into a machine because… well, look, Viktor views a lot of human emotions to be a weakness, clouding one's judgment and preventing them from being truly happy. When Viktor was "betrayed" by Stanwick, he felt bitter and salty. He realized that those very emotions were the things that he viewed as flaws. He found himself being a hypocrite, looking down on people with such emotions while he himself has them.

So he removed them.

He didn't do it cos've stanwick anymore. It was the expulsion. And he was angry; not devastated. The awesome change in personality never happened. It feels like they took a great character arc, and sort've trivialised it.

But that's just me.

*** They also sort've removed his crazy.

Wait, yeah, it was cuz' of expulsion. Mb.
Anyway, Viktor is and always has been a logical man. Big revelations don't come with a lot of outward emotion for him, they;re showed through his actions. So he wouldn't have an awesome change in personality that, say, Jayce would recognize, but he did have one. He was depressed and in comtemplation of life for weeks.

"Weeks". :P

It doesn't capture the original, I don't think. I liked Viktor being on the verge of insanity due to a crippling life crisis. I liked people not understanding him. Now, he seems entirely relate-able. Even to children. A feel-good Viktor-lyte, maybe?

I confess, the child story was well-written. I really don't have any problems with it. But I would've liked a Viktor that resembled the original. I don't think Riot "gets" it. And by it, I mean what they (apparently accidentally) created with VIktor.
