I Don't Understand Cassiopeia's Visual Design

For starters, she's supposedly the sister of Katarina, yet they look nothing at all alike. While, yes, as a redhead, Katarina would most likely have fairer skin than Cassiopeia, that doesn't explain why Cass has one of the best tans in the game. Did she stay in Shurima for a weeks after getting cursed for that sweet complexion? Which brings me to my second point.

While she was getting that oh so perfect tan, because you know, beauty goals, did she decide to immerse herself in Shuriman culture? That would explain all the gold she's wearing, and that headdress. She's supposed to be a Noxian champion, and currently in Universe, is back in Noxus, but you wouldn't know that unless you read her lore.

Thirdly, wasn't she cursed, and had her beauty taken away or something? Part of her character is the loss of her beauty, yet she looks better than half the people I know. All that happened was she got a tail, slit pupils, and decided to start wearing green eye liner. Instead of having her wear claw jewelry, give her actual claws like in her Siren skin. Give her a forked tongue, or hair that's been withered or something. You don't have to make her look like Freddy Krueger, but at least something so she isn't just "girl with a snake tail".

I hate the "she's not ugly" argument. Nowhere in the new lore does it suggest the curse was a curse of ugliness. And even if it was, it literally transformed her into a half-snake. Like, unless you're into some weird stuff, that's definitely not very beautiful.

Her design is fine.

Overall Cassios design is just really old and quite the mess thematically.

Though her ingame model does actually fit the whole "lost-beauty"-theme.

I mean this face might not be horrendous, but its definitely not attractive either https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CZV0NPHWEAY1aDV.png

Well for one thing she probably did get a really good tan in shurima, and her snake features definitely take away the beauty aspect

While yeah, her costume doesn't match noxian primary aesthetics, you could at least make the argument that Noxus, being the inclusive place it is, would also make sense for fashions of the regions they conquer to have some influence throughout the empire. Noxian spending time in the shuriman settlements for some period would likely take on some of their fashions

Maybe she is more alike her mother? Sivir also has tainted white skin and she lives in Shurima, but so do other champs that don't live in Shurima (ex: Young Ryze skin, which is a cannon skin).

She was transformed by a Darkin. Her beauty wasn't taken away, she just gained the snake legs of the Ascended who's poison melted her legs off after they were crushed by the Darkin's statue.

If the statue fell on her head then she would have a snake face... but that would just be weird.

Her tongue is forked. You can see it in some of her idle animations. Some other points. If you look at their faces side by side, you see some similarities. They both have similar jaw shapes, and the same sort of pouty lips. While Cass' nose is a little shorter and the nostrils arc up higher than Katarina's, their brow line is almost completely the same. In regards to their hair, we don't know what Cassiopeia's hair looks like, but I think we can guess it's black by the color of her eyebrows, but that's even assuming she's got hair. After all, she could just be wearing the headdress because she's bald from the curse - and even if she's Noxian, she may wear Shuriman inspired costumes to play up to her general look, and try to use the Shuriman baubles and jewelry to try to reclaim and capture any beauty she believes she can find with her new form. Additionally, given that she's a snake now, she's likely gone cold blooded to a degree. This would require her to find warmth, and most reptiles tend to find warmth by resting and relaxing in the sun. So it's not unexpected that a half snake woman would have a great tan if she's having to spend a lot of time in the sun.
