10/14 PBE Update

I figured I'd link this for easy viewing and for people to voice their outrage (If you feel that, maybe you don't; I know I don't) at Morde's title being changed to "The Lord of Death". Here's the paragraphs for those who don't wanna visit Surrender@20 for whatever reason:

Mordekaiser, now the Lord of Death

''All things must die... and yet I live on.''

The baleful revenant Mordekaiser is among the most terrifying and hateful spirits haunting the Shadow Isles. He has existed for countless centuries, shielded from true death by necromantic sorcery and the force of his own dark will. Those who dare face Mordekaiser in battle risk a horrific curse: he enslaves his victims' souls to become instruments of destruction.

Hecarim

"Break their ranks and ride them down without mercy. Crush the living and feast on their terror.''

Hecarim is an armored colossus who charges from the Shadow Isles at the head of a deathly host of spectral horsemen to hunt the living. A monstrous fusion of man and beast, cursed to ride for eternity, Hecarim revels in slaughter and crushing souls beneath his armored hooves

Kalista

''When wronged, we seek justice. When hurt, we strike back. When betrayed, the Spear of Vengeance strikes!''

A specter of wrath and retribution, Kalista is the undying spirit of vengeance, an armored nightmare summoned from the Shadow Isles to hunt deceivers and traitors. The betrayed may cry out in blood to be avenged, but Kalista only answers those whose cause she deems worthy of her skills. Woe betide those who become the focus of Kalista's wrath, for any pact sealed with this grim hunter can only end on the cold fire of her soul-spears."

Karthus

"'Death is not the end of the journey, it is just the beginning...''

The harbinger of oblivion, Karthus is an undying spirit whose haunting songs are a prelude to the horror of his nightmarish appearance. The living fear the eternity of undeath, but Karthus sees only beauty and purity in its embrace, a perfect union of life and death. When Karthus emerges from the Shadow Isles, it is to bring the joy of death to mortals as an apostle of the unliving.

Thresh

''The mind is a wondrous thing to tear apart."

Sadistic and cunning, Thresh is a restless spirit who prides himself on tormenting mortals and breaking them with slow, excruciating inventiveness. His victims suffer far beyond the point of death, for Thresh wreaks agony upon their souls, imprisoning them in his lantern to torture for all eternity."

Master of Metal >

I would rather the title be something more like "The Undying Reaper" than "The Lord of Death". It just sounds a little over dramatic in my eyes. Maybe just simply "the Undying".

Another Shadow Isles update, and nothing for Yorick. God damn, Riot is certainly consistent with their distain for the Grave Digger...

(And please don't talk about the mythical "rework." We all know that it's not happening for another Soon™-teen years.)

At least they forgot about Elise and Evelynn as well, for all it's worth (which isn't much).

Pheh, they're just changing and retconning everything at this point.

They're trying too hard to make things "legitimate." Things aren't allowed to just be fun and cool anymore.

Yorick Yorik Senpai, you shall get your short bio and long lore when your Full Relaunch comes, some day...

Lord of Death sounds cool. I like it.

I want to hear what are Mordekaiser mains' opinions.

I can get why they changed the title, but Lord of Death is just stupid. HIS name has the same meaning, i know the game is aimed at teenagers that can't tell the difference, but i think Riot should try to be a bit more interesting. In the boards they proposed a lot of good names - Paladin of Pain and such -, some by Malicious Metal, who actually LOVE the champion. I think this should be thinked a lot better. (and, i friggin' love Master of Metal ;_;)

Inb4 "the Lord of Death" changes to "the Ruined King". Remember when people thought Captain Gangplank was the main skin for the guy, then everything changed...

So, i am not hating here,, just asking.

Now all of the undead champions are Haunting spirits from the Shadow isles that bring death to humans in their own way?

The only one i dont really like is Karthus' his first lore is what made me main him when i started the game. But he will still be my favorite champion due to the memory of his lore.

WOOT!! Shadow Isles lore :D.....!

Btw...lord of Death fits Mordekaiser then master of metal. Just think about what he can do;

  • Enslave people's souls against their will and use them as instruments. Only thing metal about him is his armor, and it's not about his armor entirely, it's about the trapped soul in the armor.

I am also loving Kalista's new lore

Mordekaiser, the Lord of Death Metal!

That would be better.

Chromatic Eagle10/14/2015, 10:35:10 PM1 votes

His kit still has metal names, icons, and USED to have sounds. He's a giant suit of armor wielding a giant mace while summoning a whirlwind of metal shards. You can't just move him away from the metal.

If we have to change the title, i'd prefer Paladin of Pain over Lord of Death

charcharmunro10/15/2015, 12:29:46 AM1 votes

Mordekaiser means "Death Emperor", so he's now "Death Emperor, The Lord of Death".

...That's actually kinda so cheesy it's cool.
