With ever new champion or rework recently it seems like Noxus is painted even more evil.

Kayn, Urgot, Kled's attitude, champion quotes from champions like Xayah or Rakan in general aimed at Noxians, etc.

I thought Riot's goal was to make Noxus less black and white, so I'm just confused in general because Noxus is not becoming very gray or more interesting.

Our three most modern Noxians (Urgot, Kayn, Kled) are all killers, violent, etc. And the rest of the Noxian crew has a very negative aura.

So when are we going to see some likable parts of Noxus beyond what we've known forever, that the strong can climb. I'm assuming when we get a lore update, probably with Swain's VGU, but jeez it doesn't look good so far.

Pretend Noxus is The USA.

They invade other countries and take over. Either through subterfuge or straight out war. THe people of Noxus probably doesn't see themselves as evil. What they enjoy is freedom. Freedom to say what they want and do as they please within context. It's just that their freedom isn't restricted by laws like America.

Are all Noxians bad and evil? No. But are leadership such as their general/president as well as others who head the military? Possibly. They're the figure heads which everyone all over look at.

Swain is seen as a dark and malicious man that others detest. Trump is...okay. Know what? I'll end it there because I'm going to start up Politics.

But with that being said. The US has a reputation that makes Americans be seen as...rather deplorable, even if we haven't quite done anything yet to prove so.

Why is this a problem?

Dirty Noxian scum.

Well, duh.

Our most recent lore updates have focused on Demacia (Noxus' sworn enemy) and Ionia (which Noxus has invaded twice now in incredibly bloody conflicts). Kayn, Xayah and Rakan are all from Ionia, which just recently (historically speaking) was invaded by Noxus. Kayn in particular is part of the bad guy ninja faction, so his perspective is somewhat skewed. Kled is very clearly an outcast from Noxian society, so you can't really use him to judge Noxus as a whole.

We have so many killers among Noxians because it is a highly expansionist and militaristic faction. It's the same reason why "everybody" aligned with Sejuani in the Freljord is an asshole and "everyone" from Piltover is a self-made inventor with cool gadgets.

Also, making a nation "less black and white" just means that there are things to like about it as well as hate. Noxus in the old lore was pretty much pure evil and proud of it; they had a skull mountain for a capital city, for cryin' out loud.

Well noxus is not supposed to be a nice place.

It is a faction that is supposed to be morally dark.

They do have their good sides, but I guess this will only be shown once we get to the noxus champs.

I've been gone for a while, so after rereading some of the lore, it certainly does seem that Rito is failing on that front. Kayn's backstory which it talks about how Noxus also forces a bunch of little kids to be disposable cannon fodder front line troops with their train of thought being "Who would try and hurt these children" and also "If anything does happen to them, who care's they're just a bunch of kids" definitely doesn't paint them in a good light.

Because Noxus is meant to look evil from a first glance, especially from Demacian Propaganda. The main difference is that Noxus is not evil, it is the people who are evil. We are seeing the exceptions, that show the downside of the Noxian way (New Urgot lore and Kayn lore), but we haven't seen the general Noxian population like Piltover, Demacia, Zaun etc.

I was thinking about asking this myself but you beat me. Also Kayn is Ionian and it seems like Urgot is no longer a Noxian but from Zaun. I was wondering why all these champs all hate Noxus ad we havent gotten one that likes it but isn't considered bad (Kled)

They're not necessarily evil per say.

They're just dicks.

On the flipside, Demacia isn't all spinning and sunshine either.

Something to keep in mind, while the new Urgot is a pretty twisted dude, he was betrayed by Noxus. This could imply that he was to extreme for them, so they got rid of him.
