Champions that will never defeat their rival

What are some champions you think that could realistically never defeat their rival?

While most rivals are fairly evenly matched like Jayce Viktor , I noticed a few champions have rivals they are unlikely to ever defeat.

The ones I can think of at the top of my head are: Irelia Swain and Lucian Thresh

Lucian I think is a prime example and in a massively worst spot than Irelia in his struggle. While Irelia failed to kill Swain when he was a normal human and now he's an unbeatable demon bird thing she at least has Ionia backing her and Ionia was strong enough to drive Noxus away so there's hope.

As for Lucian defeating Thresh along with the Shadow Isles this is an impossible task, we already saw his showdown with Thresh and Lucian couldn't even scratch him and was about to be consumed, and in a last ditch effort he slipped a special silver awl he kept in a locket into Thresh's wrist which caused the souls inside of him to rebel and fight back giving Lucian an opening to actually hurt him enough to force him to retreat back into the mist.

Problem is after this encounter it's unlikely Lucian's trick would work again as Thresh will remember, and continue to get stronger and stronger. Then there is the rest of the Black Mist he has to deal with as well along with Thresh like Mordekaiser and Hecarim, and likely the only way to truly defeat him he's going to have to go to his home in the Shadow Isles as Thresh simply returns there when he's either done hunting or gets hurt.

So likely the only way Lucian can defeat Thresh and free Senna is to destroy him in the Shadow Isles so he has nowhere to run, unfortunately this is where Thresh is at his strongest surrounded by undead who would gladly tear Lucian limb from limb making this a suicidal move.

And every day Thresh is active he's growing stronger from the countless souls he's capturing to empower himself, while Lucian even though at the moment a fairly young man in his prime will eventually get weaker as he ages/sustains injuries. So basically 6 items Lucian vs 6 hours farm Thresh...

Lucian also is a bit of a loner so he gets no help, and from my understanding he is the only person in Runeterra actually actively fighting against the Shadow Isles. Sure when a harrowing happens people try to either run away or defend themselves but no one really has the tools, knowledge, or care to fight against the Shadow Isles, and the undead grow stronger every day.

To make matters worse not only does he not have any help at all he's enemies with essentially every Shadow Isles undead and more importantly enemies with Mordekaiser and Hecarim along with Thresh who are all far more powerful than he is, especially Mordekaiser, Thresh is nothing compared to him, and Lucian can't 1v1 Thresh.

The only way he's going to win that matchup is if he gets some powerful allies. Unfortunately not alot of champions seem to care at all about the Shadow Isles or being even strong enough to challenge beings like MordekaiserThresh Karthus Hecarim . For instance Syndra doesn't seem too busy and is well equipped to deal with these guys considering she can lift mountains and her magic blots out other magic, but fat chance going all the way to Ionia and convincing her to fight some bad guys in the Shadow Isles she doesn't care about. There is Leblanc who will probably be interested in defeating Mordekaiser, but I'm not sure a Leblanc Lucian team up is possible.

You remember the Thresh vs Lucian fight differently than I do.

Lucian fired a blistering series of perfect shots.

They burned through the Chain Warden’s ghostly robes and ignited his spirit form in a searing inferno of light. Lucian marched towards Thresh, his twin weapons blazing.

Shrieking in agony, the Chain Warden retreated from Lucian’s unending barrage, his wraithform now powerless to resist these weapons of ancient power.

“Death is here for you,” said Lucian. “Embrace it, safe in the knowledge I will ensure it is final.”

Thresh gave one last howl before leaping from the bridge, falling like a burning comet to the city below.

Urgot will most likely never get his revenge by killing Swain. Swain is just way too influential, Urgot doesn't even reach him. The only slight chance would be to take over Piltover and Zaun, but this would most likely fail and he would have to become a dictator himself, the one thing he hates the most.

ViCaitlyn v Jinx Yeah I'm not sure about this one. While Jinx would definitely lose a 2v1 fight she's crazy, not stupid and would most likely beat the two by having them chase her through many pathways armed with tons of explosives and such...But then again she doesn't wanna kill them but at the same time I highly doubt she'd get caught and if she did she'd probably break free soon and continue the cycle until they get old and die, Joker v Batman 101 here.

Azir v Xerath I feel like Xerath would win because he's spent much more time as a semi-ascended than Azir has spent ascended, however I think sand beats lightning so all azir would have to do is put up a barrier of sand and it's gg.

Diana v Leona Diana would probably win, no evidence just a gut feeling, but I guess it really depends on the time of day. However scientifically moonlight is just sunlight reflecting off the moon so maybe Leona has a constant advantage?

Draven v Draven They'd probably forget their differences and make love and then fight to the death over who's top and die simultaneously.

Singed v Warwick As strong as WW is I'm sure Singed is too smart to be beaten unless he's caught extremely off-guard without a potion nearby, I.e WW strikes while he's taking a piss "I can smell EvErYtHiNg..."

I feel like a lot of other champs deserve a rivalry i.e PantheonMasterYiEkko (Well considering DrMundo 's latest color story they might have a rivalry)

I think it's unlikely we'll see most, if any rivalries ever properly conclude, simply because so many characters revolve around them. The closest we've ever had was TF and Graves reconciling. For the most part, though, it's a simple matter of fact that I just don't think Riot wants to risk killing off anyone's favorite champ. The one time they tried that was Gangplank, and I think most of us called it being a fake-out (which, of course, it was.)

But for the sake of actually answering your question... I do find the Xerath and Azir rivalry one of the most interesting, because it literally comes down to circumstance. It's been confirmed that if they fought near the capital, Azir would win, while Xerath would come out on top anywhere else. This implies that Azir draws power directly from the Sun Disc, and so whoever wins in that scenario depends on if Xerath tries to lure Azir away from the city.

I feel like Kayn and Rhaast are a similar situation, since we know one of them will eventually have to kill the other for control of Kayn's body, but whether Shadow Assassin or Darkin wins is likely going to be up in the air for a long time to come.

Both rivalries kind of leave you wanting to see both outcomes happen, though IDK if Riot would ever be willing to write-out those "what-if" scenarios.

Fiora probably wont be able to actually beat Jax 1v1 anytime soon unless theres some sort of training montage or something

Lucian would get help from Yorick and Maokai, but they would still lose cause both Mordekaiser and Hecarim have entire armies of very powerful induviduals

Im Kinda curious what Riot will do with Kayn in the future. Wether Rhaast or Kayn win, it will probably feel weird playing Kayn, choosing your transformation despite knowing that one has actually lost and isn't even 'canon' anymore. But well that's just geussing, for know I'm still here enjoying their bitching in game lul

Alright, who would win: Shadow Isles or Noxus? Anyone who has read Mordekaiser's lore knows it is gonna happen some day, so who do you think would win (and why)? Alliances with other regions can be included, i guess.

I'll just say my opinion: I think that the shadow isle would win. Noxian blood magic wouldn't do much to most of them, I don't think. Also, many of these champs are undead/spirits. They have knowledge of the Noxian territory due to Mord, Elise, and Karthus, and they have at least 2 armies at their disposal (Mord and Hecarim's armies). The main threats to the shadow isles would be leblanc (maybe, if she even knows or remembers them) and yorick and maokai, who want to destroy the evil in the isles. However, there isn't much in Noxus that would be able to stop Isles; they are mortal humans without any really useful magical talent (except for swain, cassiopea, and morgana). Now, check out the shadow isles' roster: Mordekaiser, Hecarim, Karthus, Elise, Thresh, kalista, and the armies Mord and Hec control. Something else to note is that every time Mord kills an enemy, it adds to his army, and Thresh can just steal souls from his enemies even before they die. Also, kalista would definitely want to fight Noxus because leblanc, the biggest traitor of them all is within their ranks.

I think the Lucian vs Thresh is kind of meant to be insurmountable odds. He is in it for revenge or to save his love or whatever, he isn't supposed to be a fair fight between them.

Camille vs. Vi Caitlyn

Cutting edge technology and city-based mobility unparalleled in lore vs. a riflewoman and a brawler. Like this is such a one-sided match-up that I wouldn't be surprised if Riot introduced someone who could stand toe-to-toe with Camille.

Lucian and Vayne have similar goals, I think they would make a better team (more wise), but I'm also thinking about Kalista.
