How I think the whole LoL-Universe works

"Dass ich erkenne was die Welt Im innersten Zusammen hält" (That I may understand whatever Binds the world’s innermost core together) Faust: The First Part of the Tragedy, Johann Wolfgang van Goethe

In this thread I try to present how I think the world of Leage of Legends is built together. I will begin with dimensions, universes, galaxys, planets, continents and countries. You saw that? The scope just went from cosmic to comprehensible. This is basically what I think how it works, but thats way too little said to it.

Dimensions/Universes: This is the biggest scope and everything beyond that is basically incomprehensible. You could argue if time is the only variable outside of dimension. You could argue. Anyways, dimensions. This is the scope in which Bard is operating. He can jump between dimensions and even travel time to get his job done (how can anything get messed up if the cosmic janitor can just retry?). Dimensions aren't easy to explain, but most people know what is meant: a world outside of our world. World, in this context, of course means everything that exists in the whole creation of our dimension. For us, it is everything that is, but a transdimensional being like Bard can experience more than just one dimension. He is basically the only natural variable in every dimensions, which brings me to my next point: The Void: The void is one dimension in the LoL-Multiverse and for now the only one that affects other dimensions. In Aurelion Sols lore it's said that the voids influence is "unnatural". They infect and probably devour other dimensions, but we're not far enough in the lore now to know all of it.

What's inside dimensions? Universes of course! Universes are the things with galaxys inside. They are basically the same as dimensions, because one dimension can only inherit one universe, but this is more in regards to the non-metaphysical part of existence. Upon the creation of the Runeterran Universe some seamingly godlike beings were created aswell. The only one we know about is Aurelion Sol, I don't count Bard because he is one tier higher in the transdimensional part. Aurelion Sols purpose and passion is to fill the universe with celestial bodies. Does that make him the father of the celestials? Probably. But yet again, I don't count Bard, and there are other Celestial Dragons, so Soraka could be the work of another dragon. Are the Aspects of Targon created by Celestial Dragons? I don't think so, but I'm straying from the Universe theme, later.

Galaxies: A galaxy is a giant mass of stars and planets and nebulas and whatsoever. The Milky Way is a galaxy. This is actually all it is to it, it is just a smaller scope inside cosmic occurences. Basically everything that can travel galaxys can also travel through the universe, but not through dimensions. Just like you would be able to get to Europe from America, but not from earth to space.

Solar Systems: We're getting closer to the centre. The big sun that powers Runeterra is probably the work of Aurelion Sol, and also the patron of Leona and the Ascended. Its power can be caught and contained via the Sun Disc of Shurima or a similar device of the Targonians. Yes, I say Targonian aspects are Ascended.

Now we have Runeterra: Inhabited by various lifeforms, from space traveling douches to weird, little, fluffy devils. Oh, and humans are there too. Runeterra is the planet on which the most of LoLs lore is happening, yet I have not much to say about it. It isn't really complex.

Now that I'm done with the astronomy part, I can finally can get to the champions: Bard is probably the highest existence in LoL's lore. He is a bodyless "spirit" that keeps the multiverse clean. Aurelion Sol is a Celestial Dragon born at the beginning of time, he may be extremely strong (he can create stars if you didn't know) but he is unable to travel through the fabric of dimensions and is bound through time. Xerath, probably the strongest champion until now, is, I am sad to say this, rather puny in comparison to these two, because he only inherits the power of one sun. Same with the other Ascended.

Ascended: The Ascended are a special group of Shurimans, right? Not quite. These are just the Shuriman Ascended. The Targonians obviously achieved ascendence too, since they draw power from celestial bodies. Their race however, doesn't have celestial origin. I say this because the sentient celestials we know are either benevolent or live in harmony. They draw their power from different celestial bodies (the Pantheon constellation, the sun/moon) and ascended in that way. The difference between the Targonians and the Shurimans is that their technology is way more refined. They get more of the power they draw upon, and though lead to better results. Additionaly, I think the connection between the "Aspect" and the host brings together with a mental link also a power flow from the Aspect to the host. The host will possess a portion of the Aspects power, but I think the Aspect will still be stronger. I actually think the Aspect permanently draw the power from their respective stars, but only the Rito gods know.

While we're talking about gods: Nagakabouros is not a god. It neither is a spirit, nor another sentient being or embodiment. Aurelion Sol has an interaction with Illaoi, telling her she doesn't understand her god. Link to Lolwiki) Maybe because Illaoi doesn't draw on the power of a god, but life itself? I think Nagakabouros is just a deity the Kraken Priests created for depiction purposes, while they actually draw upon Life itself. If Kindred is Death, Nagakabouros is Life, but actually, no. Nagakabouros is death and life, it is the circle of life. It doesn't apply to executing parties such as Kindred, or beings of higher purposes like Bard, but I think even Aurelion Sol is possible to die. He even killed other beings from the beginning of time, so he should be able to die aswell (though not by normal means).

I think I'm done.

Yep, I'm done. I don't think I missed something. Oh, yeah, this is all just head canon, so it could all be bullocks. Hope it's not though.

The Goethe quotation was totally necessary.

It's funny that what the lore of League is is actually fragments created by different people with different intentions but mostly with the purpose of selling well. It's all memes, references to pop culture, homages, some very good and some very bad ideas.

So, in general, the big picture remains somewhat neglected.

Eventually someone has to come along and unite all the fragments into one and order them into a coherent working system.

Good job, hope Riot recognizes your efforts.

Can we now talk about Ekko? I mean, if he can go back and "retry", how exactly does this work in the larger scope of things? Are the other dimensions that Bard travels in affected, and if so, how? Has Bard tried to do anything about Ekko's seemingly careless time-shifting? Does anybody even notice, like Aurelion Sol - what if he's making a star and time gets rewinded?

I'll just leave that there.

What about dimensions within dimensions?

Such as the Glade. Originally, the Glade was a place of the fae, who you could only enter while being led by one. The properties of time and space were different there, much more whimsical. Lulu might just have walked into a pocket dimension and learned to twist the fabric of her own while she stayed there. Or maybe it was a dimensional portal?

And what about Soraka's Celestial Grove while we're at it?

Xerath's power is not absolute sun power. We can't say his power level amusingly low compare to other two because his power only comes from '' Sun ''. Ascension is the source of Xerath's power, not Sun. Xerath changed the ritual, made it powerful than ever. Sun is just the material of ritual. Like how you need bones in a black magic (lel I dont know what you use in black magic but anyway, you can change it with something more correct), but without black magic, bones are no harmful and not strong.

Aurelion Sol has the power of all stars according to you, but unable to a break runeterran magic. And even he admits Runeterra has potential but they're far away from to use it.

Dont underestimate a will of man.
