So there doing this cuz they think it makes a problem designing to champions but removing it now poses a biger problem and that is removing everything summoner related from the game like those lil tooltips for the pings summoners rift alot of champion quots summoner spells probobly more stuff as well.

oh and runes and masteries tie into it cuz they look/ feel like there the summoners book to enhance there summons well now there going to be completely u connected and boring. rito has alot of work ahead of them....Rip man i want that stupid heros of the storm beta -.-

I have a feeling that they're going to put something Summoner-related back in. The whole lack of plot is stupid, and is a huge void; it pretty much makes all of the lore pointless.

"So can we get a solid, 100% certain, that Summoners, the Institute, and all of that is no longer canon? This is nice and all, but it's only vague hints about what a lot of people want to hear. If you guys do indeed just want to start the narrative over, I completely stand by your choice to do so, but this transition so far is being handled somewhat awkwardly, and it'd be nice to know what really counts as "old lore" and "new lore".

Good question! No, Summoners, the Fields of Justice and the Institute are not canon within the fictional world of Runeterra. In-game, players are still referred to as summoners - but summoners won't be part of the story.
