The following site, while I have no translation for it as knowing sod all of the language, but apparently the wording on the image says "Victorious Tree".

I for one am very excited for a new Maokai skin and will actually be doing ranked for a change to get it, though having seen Reddit's reactions I imagine there's gonna be a fair amount of dissappointment over the skin not being for a different champion. Regardless, Victorious Maokai! Thoughts?

To be honest I don't think I could be any happier to see this skin. I think he was a smaller pick this year, but definitely impactful, especially after his buffs. I'm pretty glad to see we are not getting ANOTHER Female. Because as much as I love Karma, Lux etc. There is a point where it gets annoying.

I'm trying to figure out how it's even Maokai. He was popular for like 2 months of the season and was never played again.. I haven't seen him in a single game in months.

Honestly I am going to be surprised if it is Mao. Yes there are leaves in the picture but the face is all wrong. It is too thin and long and the nose is wrong. Not to mention the eyes being off... honestly it could just be a wood mask like kindred's who is supposed to be hiding in the jungle, or Jhin with a random background to hide his identity till it is official. But seriously the face is to wrong to be Mao when zoomed in and the picture as a whole seems more like an assassin in hiding.

I'm so fucking upset. I just want to cry. I missed Victorious ELise (my 2nd favortie champ) and just barely missed Victorious Morgana (who looks amazing) and made it to Gold last season just to get the ugly Victorious Sivir (I use any of her skins over that ugly thing) and now I get fucking Victorious Maokai??? WTF? What about Kindred who was dominant pick/ban in every region for 75% of the split? Gnar? Lissandra? Rumble? Gangplank? Gragas? Graves? Fucking anyone??? I just want a reasonable explanation for why they choose him. I'm so sad. Really starting to dislike this game. Maybe there's still time to jump on the Overwatch hype train.

It looks fake. Also, I don't get why they should choose Maokai for this year Victorious skin: he hasn't been relevant at all in competitive play, compared to other top laners.

I wouldn't mind it if they didn't kneejerk nerf him halfway through the season when he started getting popular again. I was like 20W 5L with him and then Riot forced a meta change.

Historically, Victorious and Championship skins are given to champions who have been consistent picks throughout the season. This year for some reason Riot is giving them to champions who were only relevant for a few patches.

I had so much hope on a victorious karma skin, I would have loved to get her as my first ever victorious skin :( But maokai is nice too, altough I already own his haunted skin.

why victorious maokai? Isn't alistar played more often than maokai? This season, there were a lot of games with alistar, ashe, irelia, ekko, ezreal, lucian, braum. Maokai wasn't even the top champ played in top. Trundle, ekko, and ryze was seen more.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you sharjo,practicing a bit now before going back to ranked to actually get it,because then I'll get maokai for free(and I have to say the skin looks actually cool)
