Head canon: Championship and Challenger skins exist in an AU where a huge tournament occurs that all champions are a part of, and this shows Zed getting prepped for a match. Championship depicts victors, while Challenger depicts up and coming...challengers.

EDIT: Alternative head canon - challenger depicts contestants at the start of the tournament, championship for finalists, and victorious for the true winners.
