This marks the first time Noxus and Ionia clash in this tournament: Even though Darius is conquering in the Freljord and Xin Zhao was captured earlier, it's still because of the actions of Noxus.

#####Two armies collide
In the first story, What Once Sailed Free, we learn about how Xin Zhao found new meaning in life after being defeated and ready to die, pledging his life to King Jarvan III of Demacia. In the second story, The Winterspike Road, we witness struggling soldiers on the border to Freljord being inspired by the Hand of Noxus himself, General Darius. He built this road and he will not let the Winter's Claw have it.
