Ok, hey everyone! This may be a little "tin foil hat" style but could aurelion sol (the new dragon champ that is replacing Ao Shin) be a part of the upcoming Mt. Targon's event?

First: We know there is an upcoming Mount Targon's Event.

Second: On Mount Targon, we know the Solari live at the top.

Third: Aurelion Sol. Alright lets break this down. AureliAn with an A is the word for some on who studies butterflies. This comes from the latin term aurelia in which means chrysalis. This word is derived from the latin word aurum which means gold. Now, lets remember his name is AureliOn. What else do we know about this champ? He is a chinese dragon style champion. So, I think the change from and A to and O refers to the Lion dragon part of him. So, basically we have Aure (which is gold) + Lion (chinese lion dragon) to get Golden-Lion-Dragon. Awesome. Does this sound like a chinese dragon? Yes, very much. NOW, Sol. This one is pretty obvious. Sol=Sun. So Aurelion Sol= Golden-Lion-Dragon-of-the-Sun.

So, Is it possible that our friend Aurelion Sol is from the temple at the top of Mount Targon's and that he is going to be released with the new event?

What "event"? Just because they've updated some of the lore on champs doesn't mean that there is an "event" coming.

You're thinking way too into it. His name is just a play on Aurelia/Aurelius which was a rather common Latin family name meaning "golden". So his name is closer to "golden sun".

As for where he comes from, its anyone's guess. He could likely just be a legend like Bard or KIndred with no strong affiliation.

I was wondering the exact same thing.

It would be neat if our new friend were the embodiment of a Targonian God, like Illaoi is with Nagakaboros.

The solar connection is really cool too. Perhaps a Targonian God of the Sun and Sky, like Nagakaboros is with the oceans (And Anivia could be with the northlands?).

If he is an actual dragon (He could just be a draconic-themed champion, of course), I doubt he'll be serpentine, though.

And then you have to wonder where the Dragon in the Rift stands in all this. I think he needs a proper name...

Yeah I also think he could easily be connected to Targon and the Solari. I mean regardless if there is a targon event or not,the fact that they gave the targon lores priority means that they took a closer look to targon as a whole, which means that a targonian champion being rather likely(though the taric rework could also fit into that).

I totally agree with this theory, as the "Explore Mount Targon" mentions "celestial beings" & "Gods" quite often. This could reference to Aurelion Sol being a celestial being of the Sun. And he could of course could be worshiped or linked to the Solari Tribe and Leona? Moreover, There could even be an unknown celestial being of the Lunari Tribe-Which obviously Diana's tribe. So Aurelion Sol could have lunar/moon related nemisis/rival. Just like the case of Leona & Diana . Dang using some latin, the moon antithesis of aurelion could be called... Aktis Lunae [zombie-brand-facepalm] But remember this is just a theory based on analysis, and I would be so hyped if Aurelion were to actually release during this event rito. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] Also why are there two missing slots for lores on the right at the bottom of the page with the other Targonian's lores (Pantheon,Leona & Diana)? Maybe they could be specific areas of the mountain OR IT COULD BE A NEW DRAGON CHAMP.
