Let's Set the Record Straight on the New Skins

Whitebeard Ryze is a reference to Elminster of Forgotten Realms mythos. http://media-titanium.cursecdn.com/attachments/68/725/ryzewhitebeard360.jpg http://images.fasocdn.com/6562_1383385l+v=201410211738c201410211738/elminster-dungeons-and-dragons-online.jpg Sure Elminster is based off of Gandalf, but that just makes it a double reference.

And that probably means Swiftbolt Varus is Drizzt. http://media-titanium.cursecdn.com/attachments/68/697/varusswiftboltmv.jpg

Most likely. More likely than Whitebeard Ryze being Dumbledore like some are saying.

I feel bad for getting Pirate ryze now tbh... and between these skins, Dragon Trainer, and Illaoi Rito has made way too much awesome content for once patch. [slayer-pantheon-rainbows] My wallet can only bleed so much...

EDIT: We did it, Faerûn!

Varus is definitely a Drow in the style of the unstoppable Drizzt Do'Urden. A Drow.

^From after someone said he looked like a Night Elf- IIRC.

The new Hec skin looks like the forest guardian from Maleficent (movie).

I think they're all just nods to generic RPG character tropes.

Some of the new skins make me think of World of Warcraft. It's beautiful.
