You're right! http://www.gifdivision.com/uploads/4/6/0/3/46032175/11_-_ovwyeh4.gif

... but now where is Aegislash?

Void Nargacuga1 votes

We don't have a champion that uses a Sword and Shield style I think... http://data.whicdn.com/images/16238091/original.jpg

BattleBalladeer17 votes

But if Leo were holding an Aegislash she couldnt be the Solari.

Unless...

Generations of kings were attended by these Pokémon, which used their spectral power to manipulate and control people and Pokémon.

Aegi'nati confirmed. Gen 7 is taking us to Mt Targon. Aligning with Volcanion's home.

I remember most of them.

Not sure that's good.

Void Nargacuga1 votes

It can be good in some regards. Though I'm one to talk when it comes to Pokémon... I don't remember all 720 by Pokédex number. But I can figure out what types are good or weak against them just by their name since I kinda remember all their respective types. I can at times include what they are immune to if I can remember what or why its caused especially if its caused by an ability... I'm just glad no one has downvoted my "herp derp I forgot about Leona" comment. XD

RottedApples1 votes

it's been long enough since i played a lot of pokemon and i seem to be having a lot of problems with type strengths and weaknesses now... rip

That said I know far to many of the pokemon that exist in the game up through gen 5. Never played gen 6 though so meh.

also flygon is the best pokemon.

I had one in my team for the Elite 4 in Pokémon Y! It was really helpful! This might help you figure out type weaknesses now for gen 6: http://img.pokemondb.net/images/typechart.png

BattleBalladeer1 votes

Flygon is an awesome Jack of All Trades, but sadly a Master of None. I spent a long time breeding "LymReaper" as one of my first breeding projects in OR, used her as a starter for AS, and then was a little underwhelmed by her performance in the Maison afterwards.

My favorite shall always be http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/pokemon/images/e/e6/160Feraligatr_Pokemon_Ranger_Guardian_Signs.png/revision/latest?cb=20150107223209 my first.

Lym's got a permanent, special place in my party tho.

We need a character that uses duel lances. Nah duel lances are boring lets give him 8 lances im sure this will be fine.

Tyaldan3 votes

8 lances that he has to pick up every 4 minutes at spawn, and they empower his abilities in different ways! His last lance is a guaranteed instant gib but since he can only turn invisible and do %hp true damage while with no lances we think its a fair balance.

Remember when all we had was a ball of metal with magnets attached? Good times.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/6/6c/081Magnemite.png/250px-081Magnemite.png

Now we have gears named Klink. Gears.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/e/ea/599Klink.png/250px-599Klink.png

New-fangled hullabaloo if you ask me.

Don't be a genwunner, dude. Every generation has its less aesthetically inspired Pokémon, and Honedge's line is among the best designs for G6. Klefki is a floating key ring that just collects keys. I shit you not.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/0/04/707Klefki.png/250px-707Klefki.png

The Ellimiist1 votes

My god and I thought the 2nd gen was a bit uninspired when I was a kid. Second gen is as far as I wen't but I was actually around for the original games so im basically old as hell now.

Z463 votes

It's almost always Steel types that are the uninspired designs, and frankly I don't blame them too much for that. Things made of rock and metal are generally pretty uninteresting unless they're massive, like Golurk.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/6/68/623Golurk.png/250px-623Golurk.png

One of G5's better lines was Joltik and Galvantula, a mid-game Bug/Electric type.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/f/f8/595Joltik.png/250px-595Joltik.png

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/7/7a/596Galvantula.png/250px-596Galvantula.png

G6 had Vivillon (Vai-vih-lohn), the last evolution of the early-game Bug type, Scatterbug. (They're actually the only Bug-types introduced in G6 entirely.) The name could take some getting used to, but there are tons of variants based on your 3DS's location.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/4/4c/666Vivillon.png/250px-666Vivillon.png

Mega Evolution ain't half bad, either.

I love Galv, I have one on my standard 1v1 team of 3 named ElctrcMayhem

And yes Galvantula and Joltik are two of the FIVE OR SIX decent pokemon in gen 5 not including legendaries or the Simi/Pans (because you cant really go wrong with mono-types in the standard 3s)

Z461 votes

G5 has plenty of bad designs, and plenty of good designs, just like every other generation. Here are more than "five or six decent" Pokémon that came in Generation V.

Chandelure: Pretty awesome.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/6/65/609Chandelure.png/250px-609Chandelure.png

Trubbish is... better than Grimer, I guess. Trash vs sludge. Not much you can do to improve it.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/e/e2/568Trubbish.png/250px-568Trubbish.png

Never heard anyone diss Volcarona.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/6/6b/637Volcarona.png/250px-637Volcarona.png

Cubchoo is adorable as hell.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/7/72/613Cubchoo.png/250px-613Cubchoo.png

Haxorus is a total badass. It has swords on its face.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/8/8f/612Haxorus.png/250px-612Haxorus.png

Hydreigon rocks.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/3/3e/635Hydreigon.png/250px-635Hydreigon.png

Zoroark even got its own goddamn movie.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/a/a6/571Zoroark.png/250px-571Zoroark.png

Bisharp is cool.

Emolga is adorable.

You sit there with a straight face and try to say that Tynamo isn't cute.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/5/5e/602Tynamo.png/250px-602Tynamo.png

Escargo? Chevalier? It's both! Escavalier is a slow, unbreakable fucking medieval snail knight.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/6/63/589Escavalier.png/250px-589Escavalier.png

Best part is, it got its armor by stealing it off a Shelmet. Shelmet goes from this:

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/f/f6/616Shelmet.png/250px-616Shelmet.png

to this:

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/3/34/617Accelgor.png/250px-617Accelgor.png

And finally, Braviary, the Real American.

Check out Pokémon Insurgence. I think you'll like it.

BattleBalladeer1 votes

Well to be fair its a ghost inhabiting a sword.

Considering all the mythological monsters in Pokemon's first 2 gens and then the abominations introduced in Black and White, this is one of the most tame new editions the series has seen in a while.

Also Blastoise did weapons first.

Wolfenstin2 votes

I always associated that skin with Scout from TF2, but perhaps that's just me.

BattleBalladeer1 votes

Yeah I thought that too at some point, but Im just using TPA Shen to promote the Honedge gag. Also the color scheme is uncanny.

Am i the only one who hasn't watched Pokemon nor know anything about it's rules?

Z462 votes

Yes. Literally everyone who is capable, except you, has watched, played or researched Pokémon in some way.

Only partial sarcasm, to be honest.

rtbf2061059051 votes

Tbh i simply didn't care about cartoons that consumed a lot of time. Things like Naruto and Yu-Gi-Oh seemed so blunt and anime-ish to me. Pokémon isn't any different.

Z461 votes

I played Pokémon, because the GameBoy was my first handheld. I watched it, because the episodes in America have forever been on in the early morning, and I always had enough of a gap between getting up and going to school that there was time to watch it without it impeding on any of my childhood responsibilities.

rtbf2061059051 votes

I watched Avatar:The Last Airbender though. It ran on mornings aswell.

BattleBalladeer1 votes

TBH I always found the cartoons to be so untrue to the games and so corny that it was a waste of my time to watch them and I avoided them entirely.

I'm sure I'll catch hate for that but it's true.

I also had a huge hiatus from Pokemon's games where I thought I outgrew it, but when my relatives got me a surprise 3ds and a copy of Y I got sucked back in because Gamefreak did such a damn good job with it.

Serika Zero1 votes

The "hat" is indicative of the protagonist in the pokemon games. All "Trainers" which are played by the player got the hat.
