Vayne rapidly reviewed her options. She could try to dodge the beast’s bite, but that would be a short-term solution at the very best. She could kick the creature in its absurd number of teeth and attempt to land her last wristbolt in its bucking forehead, but she couldn’t trust her arrow would find its mark through its gnashing forest of fangs. Or, she could try something flashy, violent and slightly stupid. Vayne chose the latter.

I think the thing with Vayne is she hates them so much, she enjoys their suffering. She dedicated her life to doing this, so she has fun while she's at it.

She chose to be the horned demon for the changelings and dark creatures she hunts.

Vayne smiled as she killed the changeling. In a way, she's now a reflection of the demon that caused her pain.

Afterall, what did you expect of a woman who was willing to kill a mother figure and friend she had for years after saving her. Fey saved Vayne by revealing the truth. Vayne's response? Finish her off before the explanation could be finished. Killing them is all she cares about.

If she ever gets a lead or discovers the truth, she will kill Lux and she will kill Shyvanna. Vayne does not care. Not one bit at all.

I am mildly upset by this. Retconning some of her best characteristics for the sake of Vaynespotting meymeys.

I don't quite understand all this commotion about turning Vayne into a "Vayne Main lmao" parody.

The passage clearly states that her options were logically impractical. We aren't given a smarter solution, nor one that Vayne is able to spot that would be more successful. "Flashy, violent, and slightly stupid" was a very risky move, but everything points to that move being the correct one; one she arrived at through values analysis.

Cleverness and preparedness are quite prominent in the story. She gets her arm stuck in the changeling's skull, and so has to resort to a different way to get it out without losing digits. She's able to deduce the widow's nature as a changeling from the bites on the first changeling.
