... Would it be possible to finally make Shadow Prince Malz's particles gold or yellow? I know it's not Guardian of the Sands or anything, but those have sand-colored particles, and I think that would look really nice for his skin!

Even in the splash, the particles are yellow!

It's not the #1 priority for his rework, I can safely bet; but it is something that's irked me as a Malz player, and probably other Malz players as well! It would be amazing, and would probably give more players the incentive to buy a cool skin!

While it would be cool i kinda doubt it. I mean they'll most likely only change 1 or 2 of his abilities,the rest will stay the same. So even if these new particles would be gold for shadow prince malz,the old ones would be still purple,which would kinda suck if some of his spells are gold and some aren't.

But you could say the same thing for Snow Day, right? Those particles are blue, regardless of changes that Riot's going to make. It would just be a matter of color swaps instead of full-blown effect changes (adding snowflakes and blizzard sounds for example).

Yeah,but snowday came out with differently colored spells and it is a 975 skin,where different spell effects are the standard unlike shadow prince malzahar who is a 520 skin who rarely get any new particles.

Snow Day is a holiday skin with brand new VFX, a [very cute] backing animation, and a new model. It's no wonder it's 975.

Making Shadow Prince at 750 with the new particles would make more sense. I'm not expecting Riot to put in the minimal effort it would take to change purple voidy bits to yellow voidy bits for no cost at all. I'd be more than happy to pay the extra RP. The splash and the in game model are completely different things, and it seems unfair to have them so mismatched.

Well even 750 skins rarely come with new particles(usually only when the only particles clash heavily with the new design,like warden nautilus having a new W).

Eitherway I merely think it is unlikely that they'll change the particles,but not impossible.

Yeah,thinking about it,overlord malzahar is priced 975 Rp,but doesn't have much in terms of skill effects(except for his special voidlings),so it would be cool if they gave that skin some new effects as well.

Yeah, the particles and lack of backing animation are the same. It's probably only that price cause the model and voidling look so different.

They usually don't do this, because it violates their skin tier pricing system. They won't recoup the cost it takes to do that work on the price of the skin, making it not worth the effort.

They can always bump the price up if need be, but it's a stupid-old skin and a recolour, people on here and Reddit have already proved that recolouring particles isn't that hard.

And that's the thing that irks me personally. I'm certainly not made of money, but I'd be MORE than happy to pay the extra, oh, 250-425RP for the yellow particles. And I wouldn't be expecting a new model, recall, effects on spells... Anything like that! Just for the particles in game to match the particles in the splash. It's incredibly misleading!

Disagree, hopefully amicably...

People on reddit have shown images of recolors (that's all I've ever seen) that appear to work well. They also haven't playtested them and haven't proven in-engine that they are still working properly and readable. Again, if Riot COULD do that many recolors easily, chromas would have taken off big time and they'd be making tons of money on them already. That didn't happen BECAUSE it's more complicated than it looks.

Eh, personal opinions. I found this video and it seemed pretty simple.

But as I said, if it IS difficult, then bump the price up, so you cover your costs.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the idea of chromas has sort of split people. Some love the idea, some think that it's a cop out, and some think that Toxic Mundo among others are older versions of chromas.

But I personally think there's a different between chromas and changing particle colors on one skin. I don't know how much work it requires, since it's just something I don't know; but even if they increased the price, I'd be willing to cough up a few RP to get an old skin with plenty of potential!

Honestly, even though I already have the skin, I'd pay extra for those yellow particles man. I've been annoyed with this ever since I tried the skin out for the first time in-game. I'm a Malz main and I would really appreciate it if the splash art matched the skin itself. The purple particles don't look right with the skin anyway. I get that maybe having them be yellow would be hard because it would require that price change but so many more people would be willing to buy it if it had yellow, gold, or sand colored particles.

Two ways to solve this issue Riot:

Update the splash art with the true in-game color of the particles, or
Update the in-game particles to be true with the color on the splash art.

It feels wrong, you know? Everything's all white and gold and suddenly DARK PURPLE ABILITIES. It's kind of like a Guardian of the Sands skin that didn't provide what people paid for.

But... At least we're getting that rework, right? That busted... Rework... Right?
