The Demacian Civil War [Story in Development]
(Something I'm working on, but I wanted to preview a very rough summary for everyone to get feedback)
The Demacian Civil War -
Skirmish after skirmish the mages should gain power culminating in a final siege of the royal palace. Sylas and his brigade of mage now in control of the capital city wait to seize royal palace. Garen and Jarvan IV view the mages from atop the castle wall. Sylas walks forward from the others and speaks, "Now is the time for the TRUE DEMACIA to rise. No more will we live in constant fear under the foot of nobility like you. Now, hand over the king, and we will spare your lives." Silence fills the battle field only to be broken by the sound of arrows hailing down from the sky. Sylas grabs an arrow aimed for his face and snaps it before beginning his charge signalling the start of the bloody battle.
Mini Time Skip - Battle stuff blah blah magic blasts, sword swings, somehow end up in the throne room. Sylas manages to fatally wound King Jarvan and incapacitate Prince Jarvan (assumed to be dead, but still alive). The final battle is between Garen and Sylas.
The Final Battle-
Garen exhausted uses his sword to pick himself up. Sylas spinning his chains with a grin of assured victory walks forward. "Last of the King's lapdogs. Once I put you down Demacia will cleansed of its filth." Garen musters what strength he had remaining and begins his final assault. Chains and Blade clash creating sparks across the room. Each strike from both with the force of an ideology behind it. Both, Sylas and Garen, beginning to show signs of weakness as they are hurt. Ultimately Sylas gains the upper hand when he slips Garen to the ground. Just as he is about to deal the final attack....
Reverse Time skip to Lux, who sneaks into the brigade of mages disguised as one of them. She manages to make her way to the throne room just as Sylas was about kill Garen. Catching Sylas off guard she blasts him with her magic in a moment of pure instinct. Sylas now lay dying slowly. Lux runs to Garen to ensure he would live before walking over to Sylas. Tearfully she kneels down next to him holding his hand. Sylas surprised to see her use her magic freely, "You've grown... little light." he says as he coughs up blood. His mind filled with a mixture of emotions. Rage, Sadness, Pain, but ultimately calmness. Lux looks down unable to form the words she wanted to say, in the end all that she could say was, "I'm sorry", but it was too late Sylas passes away.
Time Skip again.
Jarvan IV becomes king of Demacia, and his first action as king is the removal of the mage seekers. Lux is made into a "Lightborne" the leader of a new division of Demacia instituted to help integrate mages into the society. Sylas's extreme followers leave Demacia, while some choose to repent for their actions by helping rebuild the city. Garen a bit traumatized sets out on a journey to discover himself.
