Is this a joke? A cruel joke? Laziness?

"Driven by vindictive obsession, Morgana is a potent mistress of suffering and the black arts. Once a being of grace and light, she was ripped from her kind during an ancient conflict that broke her soul, turning her into the cruel tormentor she is today. Comforted by a prophecy that claims she will strike the final blow and gain her revenge, Morgana lies in wait, her lust for power growing endlessly."

Ripped from her kind? What could rip her from her kind? What could break her soul? So you're telling me she now is going to have some brainwashed/Stockholm syndrome?!

This sounds like something off a lifetime movie already. Then because of that she is going to be evil now?

Did you all on the lore team not feel like putting forth some effort? Did you enjoy generic sounding dribble like this?

I hope this is just like a trolly place holder or something and you all are going blind side us with something good.

As of reading this, I'm very disappointed in you all. You basically took the most powerful and beautiful female of league who was understood to be of decent nature and make her some vengeful cartoon villian in this short summary. You all have treaded into bad lands with this and I now truely fear for Morgana's VGU with Kayle in the not so distant future. Thanks I guess for heralding or at least hinting at the destruction of my beloved character.

Update: rioters reav3 stated "This has no bearing on what direction we end up taking with the Kayle/Morgana VGU. We are just trying to get to a place where at least every champion has a updated short bio. I imagine when we do get to a Kayle/Morg VGU it will be pretty different then this."

Let us hope this isn't just textual lip service and our lighter shade of grey angel stays close to what we all love.

most powerful and beautiful female

RekSai Excuse you?

Jokes aside, remember what Eve got for some filler lore before her update? It pretty much just tried to modernize whatever she had about her at the time, to something that would make sense from the in game character. An assassin. Now she a Demon. More than willing to bet that Morg isn't just an evil character.

I think it's a placeholder. Irelia's lore is hardly any different from what it was. There aren't many significant updates to champions that weren't affiliated with the Institute of War (except Brand, but he's a different story), so I just think they're trying to remove all evidence of it.

If Morgana's lore does prove to be as black-and-white as it seems, I will riot at Riot. We have enough truly evil, black characters already; Evelynn, Tahm Kench, Veigar, etc. We also have truly evil and realistic characters as well: Singed, Gangplank, Swain, and more, so why not let us keep our few anti-heroes?

(I guess we have Vayne but she's kind of psycho now tbh)

They confirmed already that the Morgana lore is just a placeholder until her VGU.

They did it to Viktor too. They seem to be unable to comprehend the concept of someone who does dark things, but is more neutrally aligned. Morgana and Viktor both did things because they had to, and they had higher, actually more noble, intentions than just being moustache-twirling villains.

I completely agree; they had better not flatten Morgana into some boring, one-dimensional witch waiting for a prophecy. Of course she needs updating---more lines, new model, some special interactions, some more skill expression--but don't gut the potential depth of her character. Her present lore doesn't provide nearly enough details to determine her moral character, but it's that ambiguity that gives the lore developers fertile ground to deliver amazing content. If it's not a placeholder, then please reorient your efforts now! If it is a placeholder, let the protests here and elsewhere on the boards give you inspiration to develop Morgana (and Kayle) into the best VGUs you'll have done thus far.

How was Morgana understood to be of decent nature?

Killaburn11/14/2017, 12:45:55 AM3 votes

That's gonna be a place holder though

I cant upvote this thread because of the level restriction, but have a bump.

Morgana is some kind of chaotic neutral, seeking only true power, and waiting to take her revenge. Like every champions, she has her own goals but she's also full of anger and likes tormenting, her character is designed around suffering and pain.

I see Kayle as a vindicator, and Morgana as manipulator. Everyone has their own goals, but doesn't necessarily mean that they are bad.

We have few pure villains, especially females... So having Morgana as a strong vengeful dark art mistress fighting against the tyranny of her sister would be meh, I need more depth in their characters !

Elise Evelynn Leblanc Cassiopeia Lissandra are the only despicable, wicked and evil females I know. They are doing their things for their own account, but in a bad way.

Morgana reminds me of Syndra, since she also seek only power, guided by selfish lust, she isn't purely evil even if she seems to.

Where are you reading updated profiles o.O?

I have enver understood why people always saw Morgana as gray even when in her lore it was never stated, She always seemed to be evil to me
