Something i thought about because of one line from Demacian Heart
With Sylas on the horizon to be released I chose to reread Demacian Heart and one line in particular made me stop for a second "If you give an inch you lose an inch" After reading this line I thought to look at the map, most notably at Noxus. Noxus is spread north to the mountains south of the Frost-guard Citadel, with holdings on the coast of both Shurima and Ionia. but its made almost no progress toward Demacia and this line from Demacian Heart gives us a sort of look at why because it shows an aspect of Demacia's mindset.
in the story "If you give an inch you lose an inch" is used to say if you let mages use their magic, the more mages that will use their magic, which will also increase the the likelihood of dangerous mages making their way through the woodwork. However, we can also use this mindset on Demaica's view of Noxus. Every inch of unclaimed land that Noxus absorbs into itself the closer it we be to Demacia and the more of a threat they will be. this explains why the normally isolationist Demacia goes out to protect lands that it holds no ownership of.
hopefully you find this interesting and not just me saying something everyone already knew. [galio-happy]
