My hope for Morgana and Kayle Lore update

I really hope they stay from another world.

  • They don't intuitively fit into any of the categories (maybe spirits, but most of the spirits we've seen act differently)
  • It was kind of cool.
  • It is no longer horrifically over saturated as it was in the old lore with something like a third of champions from alternate dimensions.

Especially the third point. I think the only champions who still have that kind of lore is Malphite, who's lore is hopefully going to updated since it doesn't fit for him, Bard in his own way that's a different archetype, and AurelionSol if you want to split hairs.

Perhaps most importantly, it stretches suspension of disbelif that there was a war between angels and nobody noticed or had it important enough to mention in the lore before now.

They could fit in Targon as Aspects.

As long as their morality in lore stays ambiguous I'll be happy.

they could create a new area for them like they did with the vastayan and then add more champions to it, i really dont think they fit ionia balance ideas, and just separate the sisters as noxus vs demacia would be too cheesy

I personally feel it's their chance to add a new country or continent of Runeterra. Maybe a floating city that hovers far above Runeterra of many people with wings, who view themselves as celestial.

Tbh I like the idea of Morgana and Kayle being celestial judges of sorts. Weighing the scales and all that. Like they both mete out justice, just in different ways. I mean, Kayle's already all about "JUSTICE" and Morgana's all about "I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE" which are both judgement. So Kayle dishes out punishment righteously but Morgana's tapping into the dark emotions and punishing them because she likes it (insert BDSM joke) and that's a source of conflict. Avacyn before and after?

I've never been entirely sure if it was meant to be metaphor or not, but Leona's bio gives us:

Behind him, the sky burned with blazing light, a borealis of impossible colors and the suggestion of a majestic city of gold and silver. In its fluted towers and glittering minarets, Leona saw how the Solari temple echoed its magnificence and fell to her knees in rapture.

Perhaps there's something in that. We know from Aurelion Sol's bio that Targon used his power to "forge a star-spanning empire," so it hardly seems beyond them to have some kind of heavenly city or satellite. Maybe Kayle and Morgana's conflict is the "unknown catastrophe" that weakened the bonds of the celestial dragon and that city and empire serves to provide them with the theater to play out their great moral conflict away from the eyes of lesser mortals?

Kayle and Morgana certainly could be ancient Targonians.

We also know from Diana's colour story that the Lunari once made war with some kind of monstrous - presumably Void-based - threat that "almost unmade [the] world and still might" and that the Targonians set Sol against "chitinous beasts that tore at the fabric of this universe," so perhaps they could re-frame the conflict between Kayle and Morgana with Morgana's dark magic stemming instead from that otherworldly power?
