About the "new" skin splash art replacments...

Hey everyone, I'm Feerix from EUW. Now, the first thing you might have noticed is that i wrote new within these litle guys "", thats because these splash arts aren't really new, in fact, they have been around for a good amout of time. I am only posting this now, because i never found the courage and was quite busy lately.

Now that that's out of the way lets actually talk about these substitute splash art, I am going to be brutally honest and say that I think that they suck, let me give you an example, Dragon Fist Lee Sin or more commonly known as Bruce Lee Sin, the previous splash art was awesome to look at especially during the login screen and that is where splash arts are suposed to shine. Another example is General Wukong along with his Volcanic skin and, dare I say his Jade Dragon Skin as well ( the only "Riot made" splash art that i have compaints about) but for this skin's splash it is a minor complaint really, not at the point of General and Volcanic. I have the General Wukong skin, however, that splash art made me quite playing this skin entirely, i didn't buy the skin only for the splash art, but honestly thinking that I'll have to look at that for 2 or 5 minutes, I would rather not select it at all.

There are more skins that, in my opinion, have a similar problem such as Commando Garen (only Nagakabouros truly knows how i despise this champion), Commando Xin Zhao. I think some people are going to disagree with me on this one but Temple Jax, Grim Reaper Karthus doesnt look like the skin in game, Ionia Master Yi, Rumble in the Jungle, Mad Hatter Shaco, Waterloo Miss Fortune, Warrior Princess Sivir doesn't even tries to blend in with other splash arts... please. Renegade Talon looks like singed is disguised as Talon seriously. Now, i know some of the previous splash arts were considered outdated, but honeslty these splash arts look more like fan art than actual splash art for a skin.

I read that these were chinese splash art, but it look more like a deviant art copy and paste. A lot of these Splash changes are, in my opinion (again), unecessary, there are some I don't mind like Vindicator Vayne, Samurai Yi or Acolyte Lee Sin, none that I perticularly like and a lot that I dislike. I only hope that these are just placeholder splash art until an actuall one can be made and released for said skin, because they don't look like they are from this game or in the same page as Riot's artistic style when it comes to splash art, they stand out to much in tha negative way, plus some of them are Low res.

Anyway, to finish I would like to point out that this is entirely my opinion and that we might disagree. That was the purpouse of this post, share my opinion on this particular matter. I would like to know, what is purpose of the change, and should we expect new splash arts to replace these? What do you think of this? Thanks in advance for reading and sharing your opinion. :) [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

PS: Why is Pantheons "icon" in the Store under the Champion tab looks the way it is? He looks like he is made of clay, seriously, i could totaly see him in a Bob the Builder episode.

These changes aren't meant to be permanent, most of them are gonna be replaced by entirely new splash arts, they just unified the splash arts across all regions because having different splash arts for different regions just caused problems.

Also you say that many of the chinese splashes don't fit lols artstyle and while you are right about that, you should keep in midn that the same goes for the splash arts that were replaced by them, the only reason why they don't seem that out of place to you is because you are used to LoLs old artstyle even if said artstyle is quite different from the new one.

From what I understand, the reason why they made the changes was to "unite" all of the regions by using some of each other's splash arts. I personally think it was a cool idea and even though some of the splashes kinda suck, its still some form of an upgrade for older skins. I'm sure they're working on splash updates to replace a majority of them, but we might have to wait just a little bit because they're currently prioritizing the new client.

Miss Fortune, Karthus, Garen, Sivir, Sona, Karma, Sion and Annie are all on the list for skin splash art updates (those will get the same treatment has Trundle, Nidalee and Tristana)

The Chinese arts are placeholders, in fact they are done with the unification.
