Out of every champion, which one do you find the lore of the most interesting? I personally love Jhins, as he is one of my favorite champs.

Viktor's lore is by far my favourite. Viktor (<--for easy recognition)

"A scary evil scientist who turned himself into a cyborg and stole a crystal from Piltover, but doesn't retaliate when his work gets stolen or his laboratory gets destroyed? Something's strange here..."

A character created to be viewed as a villain, but who hides behind that mask incredible complexity and personal struggle. The premise is of your typical villain, but Viktor never actually did anything really evil, on top of actually being focused on trying to help humanity. Now, before anyone says "he'll stop at nothing to achieve his goal", I'll point to the fact that he didn't take revenge on professor Pididly, the one man that literally destroyed his life; nor on Jayce, after the Defender of Tomorrow destroyed his lab. It's also a fact that Viktor does not force augmentation onto anyone.

His story is the one which tells you that you should hate him, but in the silence between the lines, you see there's much more to the story and that what the media tells you is far from the complete truth.

There are many stand outs, but right now the lore I hold to being the most interesting is Skarner's, for a few reasons.

Firstly, the Brackern, being an ancient non-human species has always been very interesting to me because I love non human stuff. Human stuff in a fantasy setting is boring to me, so having giant sentient crystal scorpions rocks.

Secondly, as a lover of ancient history and different cultural approaches to things, the history and culture presented in Skarner's lore of the Brackern as a whole just delights me to no end.

Thirdly, Skarner being alone in the world and struggling to do what he has to do not because he wants to, but because he has to is a character trait I can strongly get behind. I sympathise with Skarner's plight and feel for him being in a world on his own, trying to figure out what's changed and the nuances of human society, which is so wholly different from his way of thinking.

Fourthly, Skarner being a good guy monster is a theme I've always enjoyed. Monsterish creatures that are actually either good or just doing their own thing, with their own complexity and depth, while not just being evil beasties is perhaps my favourite character archetype of all. It's why I love Maokai, Nautilus and Nami so much; monsterish in their own ways but still characters with goals and dreams and hardships to overcome.

And fifthly, Dreamsong. Jellybug did an absolutely killer job on Skarner's short story, and expertly wrote the thought process of an entity that thinks entirely differently to humans. Skarner's way of perceiving the world and what's in it, his interpretations of human culture and his beastly way of fighting and interacting with things in a way that makes sense only because he's a Brackern is so captivating and interesting for me that I hold Dreamsong as my absolute favorite short story released by Riot yet.

So yeah, I've got a thing for the lore of the Crystal Vanguard.

Hmm. I guess Sion, his backstory as a human is insanely bad ass, and they integrated his magic power up (a concept I usually hate) in a way that actually makes you feel for the character.

This is going to sound bitter, probably much more than I actually am. But most the other characters whose lores I was interested in or at least interested in seeing where they would go; Poppy, and the Targon triad, have been re-written in ways that miss out what I originally found interesting about them.

Well even with the exclusion of camps that have really bad bio/lore like Jax, Fiddle & Nocturne most character lore in League still to this day have basic bio pages that are mostly just extended explanations of said champs abilities or design concept e.g. Tahm Kech's story basically just says "TK is a River Demon" and that's still ontop of the fact that we got a lore video with his champ reveal. How about Ziggs, he just wants to blow things up, Bard is the cosmic janitor, Brand wants to burn things, even Kha'zix and Rengar outside of evolving, hunting or tryin to kill one another there's not much to them. What I'm saying here is its hard to like a champs lore when most are confined to their base concept, unless your really like the concept.

I can understand why you might like Jhin, looking past the fact that he's visually fun to play and watch in game. But he's also a champ very fortunate enough to have received fleshed out lore that makes him more than just a male sniper. Ontop of that you know Riot loves him too as the popular theory atm is Jhin's going to get more stroy and lore sometime soon-ish.

Now don't get me wrong, there are still tones of champs that have (slightly more) fleshed out lore from this year and last. However I would argue that most just had changed lore rather than expanded but they're still ahead of other champs. But to answer your question to begin with, my personal fav lore has to be for all the Shadow Isl champs, especially Thresh, Hec and Kalista they were really cool and I've never even played either of them.

Sion By far my favorite. I love how they wrote his story in the first-person, it's interesting and different. One of the best parts of his lore is the speech given at his memorial, which describes the events that lead up to his death. His lore gives great insight into what an awesome character Sion really is.

Illaoi I just love this character overall. They do a great job of portraying her as a super strong female character, which is really cool and different (too many are just overly sexualized, looking at you Miss Fortune). The best part of her lore is actually the story from the Bilgewater event. I believe the story is called "The Burden." It's a really cool story and lends a great deal to her character.

I always liked Irelia's lore. I like her conviction to continue fighting pretty much no matter what, even after her death.

Braum

Not a lot of love for this guy so far. He, as a person, isn't even introduced in his lore. It's a story of two people talking about him. He's so legendary that his lore doesn't have to tell his story; his lore tells about how EVERYONE tells the stories of Braum, and there are too many to tell at once. We have a lot of noble heroes in League, but Braum his the only folklore-hero of them all. He gives hope and inspiration to the common man by spreading good cheer and protecting people in danger. His lore speaks volumes about his character, instead of just telling his life-story. And that being said, his lore doesn't even tell his life story, so we still don't know how this jolly, ageless hero became the figure he is. He's a good guy, shrouded in mystery, which is a combination we don't see often. I can't wait for there to be additions to his lore that just give us all of the Braum-bedtime-stories.

I've actually become attached to Kindred lately for their lore, among other things. I find it extremely interesting how Lamb and Wolf are universally known as death itself, and people worship them and exchange stories and customs. A true Demacian will turn to Lamb? Wolf leads the hunt in Noxus? Bilgewater holds a celebration to honor their survivors and those granted death by Kindred? The Frelijord "kiss the wolf" before battle? Something about Riot mentioning the factions like that just really compelled me. Like wow, we actually have a legend at our fingertips. Favorite lore hands down, no contest.

P.S. Lamb is the best.
