Is there a connection between Fiora and Lucian?

Now I don't mean family relationship, but I notice they have a few similarites between them that can't just be coincidental.

For starters they both have a somewhat similar design theme on their outfits. I know they aren't the same but they have a similar feel to them. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/YRyGvsGbHnM/maxresdefault.jpg http://th07.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2012/330/b/f/fiora___the_grand_duelist_by_eoinart-d5mb7ri.jpg

Next Fiora is shown to be in some sort of church in her original splash, and Lucian's background and title, "The Purifier", implies he also has some sort of religious affiliation like a Paladin for a church.

So its likely they both are a part of the same church and have some sort of martial connection to the church. But of course strangely, religion isn't really talked about in the lore, all that much.

They are also both Demacians and seemingly part of the wealthy nobility of Demacia. Fiora is of course famous, very wealthy, and part of the "greater" nobility as stated in her lore.

Lucian however while not outright stated he is a noble, his incredible and clean appearance, clothing, and advanced weaponry suggest his family most likely has money, on top of this he doesn't work a conventional job like the peasants or the soldiers and instead spends his time hunting the undead so while he may not be part of the greater nobility he is probably still of a very high class in Demacian society.

They both seem to have an absence of actual military experience since none of their lores state anything about serving in the military.

However we also know military service is compulsory in Demacia so its possible that they were exempt from "normal" military service since they are serving the church as soldiers.

So Fiora being the "Grand Duelist" likely puts her skills to use on the battlefield slaying undead or something since realistically if Demacia is at war Fiora is going to be put to work where her skills matter.

And also with the massive threat the undead pose to the living in Valoran Demacia most likely has many soldiers just like Lucian hunting them down. Undead in League are less like zombies and more like demons they spread and corrupt everything, twisting the minds of everyone they encounter into insanity, intelligent, and have no issues killing en masse.

Finally they are both loners, Lucian because he lost his wife and spends all his time hunting undead, and Fiora because well she is probably just an ass, Jarvan himself had to comment on it. But she also spends all her time presumably training and if my theory is correct also hunting undead.

This is all speculation since they both have limited lore and both of them have very little explicitly stated canon relationships between other characters (Lucian we know hates Thresh, Fiora for whatever reason doesn't like Lux or Garen).

TL;DR: Lucian and Fiora have some sort of connection between them, Fiora is an undead hunter and needs a new skin, Purifier Fiora.

Hmmm, I don't see much of a connection between the two. While they're both Demacians, I see Fiora more as being a part of the royal nobility (duelists), while Lucian is more a part of a divine order (purifiers). Both are a part of Demacian society, but very much in their own way.

Lucian and Vayne on the other hand I can see possibly working together as they share somewhat similar goals. Lucian seeks out and fights the undead (Thresh, Hecarim, Mordekaiser, etc.) while Vayne seeks out and fights those who perform the "blackest of magic" (Vladimir, Warwick, LeBlanc, etc.). I can imagine their paths crossing to some extent. =)

Their outfits being of a similar design probably has more to do with their thematic fighting styles as opposed to an actual lore connection.

Notice that both use combat styles with fluid motion. The 'trails' in their clothes help to exaggerate the speed and nature of their movement. In an actual combat scenario (cinematic lore for example), the average soldier could be distracted and caught off guard by the added theatricality of these movements. You have to realize that regular soldiers or warriors aren't really trained in speed (see Noxian soldiers & villagers in Bard: Mountain).

Soldiers wear heavy armour and are trained to hit hard. Precision is desirable but not a priority. Lucian and Fiora specialize in speed and precision (Talon is another example). Your attire is designed to distract your opponent's eyes. Make them look at where you were, instead of where you are or are about to be. Of course, this type of ploy wouldn't be as effective versus experienced warriors like Garen, Xin Zhao, Darius, Rengar, etc.

Fiora and Lucian definitely have military experience, the difference is what kind.

Regardless of Fiora's nobility, she is the top sword-fighter in Demacia. It is a title and honour she earned by effort, not by birth. Fencing may be her preferred style, but it does not mean she lacks proficiency in others. It is extremely likely that she is involved in shaping Demacian sword-fighting (be it academy training or for the battlefield). It is extremely unlikely that she has never served in a war or been called for some special mission (assassination, bodyguarding).

Is Fiora so confident in her swordsmanship to the point of arrogance? Yes. Is such arrogance justified? Most definitely. To you, she might seem like a loner because she acts like 'an ass' but the fact is that she is the best in Demacia. There are plenty of stories about Steve Jobs acting like an ass but that doesn't mean the man is undeserving of respect for his accomplishments. If anything, Fiora is the type of character that would gladly be beaten by someone truly better because it will allow her to reflect and get better herself.

We don't know much about Lucian's combat training, true. However, we do know that both he and Senna were proficient enough at gun-fighting to have special weapons crafted for them. It isn't far-fetched to think that Lucian and Senna have some religious connection given the 'holy light' weaponry. For all we know, they could have been part of Demacia's aid for Bilgewater during one of the Harrowings.

If I were to guess, they were at Bilgewater when Thresh made his first appearance on the mainland. It is probable that the defenses set-up didn't account for the likes of Thresh and that surprise factor is how Senna ended up losing her soul.

On Fiora's profile, it only lists Rivals as Jax and Lux (both mutual). Does this mean she dislikes them? Hardly. Does he rival status with Lux automatically put her at odds with Garen? Of course not.

We're talking about an honour-bound warrior here. Her rivalry with Jax is extremely simple; the best want to fight the best.

The rivalry with Lux is a little more complicated. They are both noble, female, and have natural talent in specific fields. Personal rivalries aside, there are bound to be rivalries between the two noble military houses of Demacia.

The key difference between Fiora and Lux is personality. Fiora respects and acknowledges skill, something Lux clearly has but unlike Fiora, Lux is likable. Lux isn't out to be the best in the world and neither will she behave in a way that would alienate her fellow Demacians. Fiora is trying to redeem the honour of her house AND pursue her personal wish to be the best.

Lux is probably seen as a rival because Lux is very good at something that Fiora is not. I'm sure Fiora sees the value of being skilled in magic, but given the chance, she would duel Lux to prove that great swordsmanship can trump magic.

Cleric's (Gun Kata) inspired Religious group. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-giO15yKik

Would also add her Vayne .

Vayne has a Gun Kata reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzL7ViukbL4 and Lucian has one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz69AJ-TZKA

This is just me, but all three Fiora Lucian Vayne are part of some special group from Demacia. While they dont have the same weapons, all three value precision.

Probably the nature of demacian fashion, I highly doubt they would have any meaningful connection other than they might shop at the same store
