the new Kai'sa comic has me wondering how kai'sa managed to come out looking like she does again

The one guy that fell into the void at the start of the comic was probably down there like... a few hours tops not even a full day, and he came out looking like something I expect from the void. Kai'sa's Bio says she was in the void for like... 3 or more days tops and yet she still came out looking how she did??? Am I missing something in her Bio? does the Void like... have no effect on your body at all? does a void creature have to like graft itself onto you in order for you to start changing? and if so why didn't she come out looking more like other void creatures why does she still look like a human in a skin-tight suit wearing armor where it's not nearly as effective and a jetpack?

I know the whole design debate with her is silly but I just really want to know why she came out looking like this as opposed to most other things.

  • She didn't get killed.

  • She never was in the Void. She was in the caves beneath Shurima's surface that connect with the Void, but aren't actually part of it.

  • She got lucky in the fact that she was able to kill the first Void creature she encountered when she fell into the caves, and then that instead of destroying her, the creature bonded with her, creating a second skin.
