I'm interested in faction history; national origins.

Valoran has many colorful nations spread across. I muse often about how they fit into the millennia-spanning history of the continent.

Some factions are ancient. Shurima, Freljord, Shadow Isles. But how old are other factions? When did each factions start, what where they before they gathered under one banner?

How where the factions different in various stages of their history? Where did various modern ideologies first sprout? Was Ionia once a more sinister place? was Zaun once not so rough? Were Yordles once not like what they are now?

Where did the peoples of the various factions come from? What where the Freljord tribes before the Three Sisters? What factions have common origins, originating from a common people? Could Demacia and Noxus have been one tribe in the distant past, for example?

Where do nations lost in time, like the Protectorate, Magelords and Icathia, fit into Valorans History? Do descendants of these peoples remain? Where did they come from, and what mark did they leave on the world?

What peoples crossed the oceans to settle on Ionia, Blue Flame Island and the Shadow Isles? What were they before those great exoduses? For instance, was the Shadow Isles built by some nobadic people, or maybe former Demacians, Noxians, or Targonians?

Please, write down you theories and let's have a discussion on the topic! :)

Being a huge Singed fan, I like to imagine Zaun as a sort of dystopian Australia, where the nations discarded people they thought to be against their ideals.(in history, Britains prisoners island) These people are the Noxians at heart in Demacia, the troublemakers and insane within the serenity of ionia, the scientists and bookworms of Noxus, cast down as the noxians worshipped the fearful military might of The likes of Darius and the Cold unsettling Swain(and Beatrice). These outcasts found home in Zaun, where they could mold themselves. Its not their haven, for these men and women seek no safety. Instead, they've chosen to indiscriminatley push aside all others, a negative effect of their own exile. Beggars in Zaun are few and far between, ask for gold and you may just find your arm being carried away between the teeth of a particular wolf-like Apothecary. The extreme meritocracy supersedes even that of Noxus, because there is no Pretension. This is the modern urban jungle, where those strong enough to walk openly in the streets cause those in front of them to hide in pipes and potholes, for fear of the intense cruelty and hatred these men exude. These are the kinds of men that would use a windy day to test the spread of their bio chemical weapons. That would install a prosthetic arm to an amputee, then command it to strangle the amputee to test the strength of the brain's inputs. They have no moral qualms and the city of Zaun is both defended by and trampled underneath their will. So feared are these elites that Not even the geniuses of Piltover dare invade. The great nations cannot deny Zaun's achievement, with even Noxus showing respect in the form of business.
